    He’s not in a hurricane. If he cleared 5’ around it as he claimed that won’t be an issue. You think he’s just Measuring a drift? I know where you are coming from, but if he claimed he cleared around it as he said, I don’t see an issue. Even Reed had a depth of 50” last night at 6:30 and it wasn’t done snowing. If you measure every 6 hrs, those numbers make sense to me.

    So why would you put it on top of the snow? That makes no sense. It’s added weight on top of the pack.

    You can’t put the snowboard on top of the snow it will just sink in. His area also didn’t look that prone to wind. If he cleared out around it it should be OK.

    December to start looked milder for a long time. Sounds like folks got confused. But it’s too bad not much happened other than a coating to an inch inland that lasted two hours during this stretch.

    It’s probably averaging above normal, but it doesn’t look like a torch stretch. There isn’t a massive prolonged SE ridge.

    That looks right. But it's why snow measuring is a joke. We aren't even consistent and I agree...once a day is silly...especially high ratio stuff. I typically do in between 6-12 hrs too...or whenever I have the chance.

    Well not really anymore I still do it every 6 hrs since that is what first order stations do. I believe it is now once a day, unless you have changing ptypes. Don't get me started.

    I ask because now is when there will be big differences from 6 hr measuring and what is on the ground, but I think having both as a reference is good.

    I'm watching Buffalo weather dig out his driveway not sure of that is creepy or funny.

    At least early December is not a torch...at least as of now. Looks like one of those looks where things need to be timed right down here, but serviceable up north.
