  1. Agree with you about NWS. They used to be so good. I always have their forecasts more weight. These point and clicks are for the birds.
  2. I was thinking about that. I mean real snow cover 6 inches plus for at least a week to two weeks....been awhile for many of us in the tropics
  3. I was thinking a White Christmas was on really thin ice down here even with an inch or two ...it gets pretty mild Wednesday afternoon and there's no icy mix to solidify things. Still some mood flakes a couple days before Christmas and having it not be bitterly cold isn't the worst thing.
  4. I only have looked through a handful of the big dogs but the accumulation maps are spot on for every single one so far. There are so many maps of these storms that are way overdone and just wrong in general. Even the KU book has some glaring snowfall map errors. I know this will bring me much joy and reminiscing in the days ahead.
  5. From 60 to mixed bag in the lower valley.....kind of cool
  6. Wet snow! Mixed with rain and cat paws.....32 down from 37 20 minutes ago
  7. 1.7 final here in death valley....not too shabby . 5.2 on the season so far and has to be at or very near climo for mid month
  8. I can't believe someone even liked this post The glass is always empty at your house...geez
  9. 1.3 steady light snow continues SE Forest Park....better than I expected.
  10. And the snow probably isn't being blown sideways by galeforce northerly winds... Even more rare
  11. Its not going to wipe out your pack either, just an encouraging base to build on as your real winter begins.
  12. MTK to BID special...that's somewhat rare. Be pretty cool though.
  13. I went into their thread right after the back to back Monster snowstorms in 09-10 asking if some folks really had up to four feet on the level and I was told to go back to my forum and stay out of theirs. I had heard some places just outside of Baltimore had accomplished that incredible feat.
  14. I remember delivering newspapers in seventh grade in minus two temps with a freshening northerly breeze so wc had to be minus 25 or more on a Saturday morning in January and pretty sure the ground was bare
  15. Nominate for best Post of the month, perhaps year.
