  1. I thought to myself today the models must be giving over an inch of melted to forecast 6 to 10 inches around here, especially when factoring some sleet and zr. GFS only has .7 to .8 qpf....
  2. A few flurries out there, nice wintry day....love the title of the thread
  3. Parts 1 and 2 both were meh....light coating between both
  4. That is the last time I got crushed with a squall here in Springfield. It was at least 1.5 inches and there was thunder and lightning. Since then they have all missed or it's a coating flurries/light snow showers
  5. Great, you can see all the Miller As that produced from The south or Mid Atlantic up through Maine...storms of yesteryear
  6. Correct and those more east forming/passing storms often clip the NYC area including SW CT....
  7. 16.5 for the season after 1.5 yesterday....
  8. For the most part you are correct but SW CT and NYC have had plenty of mind boggling snow events over the past 20 to 25 years....this year they are missing out a bit
  9. Yup.. I had about an inch and a half then by 9 am the sun was coming out but then it was cloudy all afternoon and I knew that it had been snowing all day in eastern areas. I purposely did not follow all day And NW of me there was less
  10. Snow wise D (15 inches season to date) Cold wise B- .....A respectable number of very cold days with afternoon temps in the teens and a few more days 20 to 25f but the storm that buried eastern areas certainly gets a small nod back here with steady light synoptic snowfall and windy conditions with lots of blowing snow and brutal wind-chill, temps generally 10 to 15f C minus overall
  11. And amounts dropped off from there at the border, in fact some nw parts of Springfield only had 3 inches. I had 5 three miles north of the border
  12. Same here, especially without much wind, make things white for a couple days
  13. Oh well I was excited about a snowy Sunday a few days ago but that has slipped away too....Just barely 15 inches on the season and the clocks a ticking
  14. At least we had a period of light snow earlier with a legit coating and really good snow growth For a few minutes it was beautiful lol
  15. Only this winter....zero this morning and an ocean storm will take a track southeast of us but by then it will be too warm for a snowstorm just 24 hrs later Terrible luck for River and WOR folk
  16. Scattered ice patches amongst the frozen tundra is all that remains here
  17. 30f It's like sleet and drizzle had a frozen love child,
  18. Thats the one TWC showed one day earlier this week
  19. Rain 32 A couple days ago I only listened to TWC and whatever weather updates I get on FB. I purposely did not stay on here like I did the entire week before bc I didn't want to make myself crazy. Still it sounded like Thursdays rain would change to ip/zr late at night and then to a nice burst of snow for Today. Sounded like a covering of ice and 3-4 inches of snow was a lock and with the flash freeze the roads would Be a disaster and temps fall into the teens by dark with bitter wind chill and snow tapering to flurries. I even thought weight held on to some old snow and have a net gain. Wow, feels like a 1980s bust
  20. I hope something pops for a good snowstorm for everyone
  21. I think they were worse back here, we had about 5 inches of packed arctic sand but it was surprisingly heavy to move. I bet it was 9 or 10 to 1....I don't think we even had any moderate snow but snow fell 20 hours
