flurries now but what a night....we had a few pulses of 3/hr stuff
we made warning criteria for both parts, they should leave the advisory up a few more hours at least
cloudy with a few flurries...we actually had about 6 inches at the peak but it has compacted at least an inch
some bigger totals just north/west,north and northeast of here...
a little freezing drizzle at times....will go with 5 from round one ....really dense stuff, there has been a little compaction
for 12/1 I will take this as a win
congrats to those along and just north of the pike out to upstate ny
boxing day had a subsidence zone bigger than the state of ct
all the worry I had over the years I now see some of it in CT and CT has really been the big winners overall compared to climo and all else the past 15-20 years or so
the last time I remember real ull snows after a solid waa thump was dec 08...7-8 inches down here on the front end and another 3 inches over the next day and a half
I do admire your enthusiasm, I couldn't believe how many pages in the past day! Last I heard a few days ago was a frozen mess getting washed away....all the big stuff rt2 north
I had just over 1 inch in the Jan 16 storm just 3 miles north of the ct/mass border and most of that fell in one quick half hour burst
Regarding memory lane...central and southern ct folks up to DIT were all solid 2 feet with a few places to 30" 1/12/11 and the same zone 15-20" two weeks later
and what about the inv trough with up to a foot plus in early Jan in some of the same zones......
I knew it!! I saw 30% pops for sn/rn showers in the p/c extended and said to myself...."self, go to your favorite wx website and see if there is a buzz in the air"
ok well that is still very solid, best we did was 1/hr for maybe 2 hrs.....1.5/hr for 3 hours would have gotten us to at least 8-9 which for me would have been solid....you guys in that part of ct have had some very memorable events in seasons past
