  1. I'm not a fan of gloomy weekend days, but this is good. A nice steady soaker. 1.14" so far today, and 1.68" since Friday night.
  2. Begging worked. Since midnight, I recorded 0.90"
  3. 0.09" here... My new grass is begging for more.
  4. Over in Pottsville having dinner and the air feels dry. I expected it to be a bit muggy today, but it doesn't feel like a storm day. At least not right now.
  5. I love good strong to severe storms. I'm just not into the hail component. We had a hail storm here in Tamaqua a bunch of years back with golf ball sized hail and it did a number on everyone's cars. Some had broken windshields and/or rear windows, but everyone had some good sized dimples.
  6. High end of my NWS forecast gives me over 3 inches of rain by Monday night.
  7. Had a couple of decent hits. One as I was leaving Fogelville and one at the yard when I parked the truck. .18" in my backyard.
  8. I have to look elsewhere for a map with county lines, but that 4-5 inch swath looks like it runs right up the I-81 corridor and into the Poconos.
  9. That's a good amount of rain if it verifies. I just wish it wasn't going to take 5-6 consecutive dark and dreary days to get it.
  10. What a shitty weather pattern coming up next week...ugh Sunday A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Sunday Night A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Monday A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Monday Night A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Tuesday A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Tuesday Night A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Wednesday A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  11. And as fast as the line fizzled, my warning was unfounded. It's crazy what that I-81 ridge from Tremont to Hazleton can do. It happens a lot...
  12. So it looks like 0.10" from the "event", which IS pretty much spot on with the forecast from yesterday, as they said a tenth to a quarter inch. While it looked like the line was going to hold, it fizzled at I-81, but...we weren't really supposed to get the big storms here anyway. I had just hoped for a bit more rain for my newly emerging grass areas.
  13. I've seen lines fizzle out here before, but not as quickly as this one did.
  14. Unbelievable. That line hit i-81 and almost instantly tamed down. Looks like just a breezy rain now for me, which has kind of started already. No lightning at all so far.
  15. Yes. And future radar hold it, and perhaps shows some strengthening.
  16. And we just went warned in the Skook...
  17. If future radar is to be believed, that line holds together all the way through Schuylkill County. Has us getting hit around 8:30. We do have watch hoisted here.
  18. Yeah, I thought that gradient shifted east a little bit.
  19. You can see the difference between Hazleton and Allentown in my latest trucking video. As I mentioned in my Facebook post, the grass along I-81 was still mostly dormant, and the trees were bare at the well. Down in Allentown, most everything was green and blooming/leafing out.
  20. I was 36 this morning, but undergoing a rapid rise. Currently 60 now at 9am.
  21. Implications? Continued or sustained warmth? Or another cold period?
  22. The station south of me stayed the same so far, but my high gust jumped to 24mph. That's near record territory for my station.
  23. So while my station is quite sheltered from the wind by the mountains and the neighborhood houses, I still recorded 17mph this morning so far. Five miles south of me, along 309, there's a station out in the open. They recorded 41mph yesterday and 47mph so far this morning.
