Because it's the Phillies being the Phillies. For years, it seems that whenever they tear it up and go on a long winning streak, they then go on an equally long losing streak, ending up right where they started before the winning. I don't know why it happens, but it almost always seems to.

The air......she has changed. Breezy and much less humid since the front passed through.

Seems like every season is pushed back each year. Winter into spring, summer into fall, and so forth. It's almost like there was some paradigm shift in atmosphere.

Got absolutely nothing in Tamaqua, but today was camera day in the truck. I'll show you all in a day or two the downpour I rolled in down in Fogelsville (Allentown).

Got home late from work yesterday, so I forgot to check, but my high was 93.

Just ticked that 90 yesterday. 90.0 was the high for the day.

Actually cracked the real 90 myself just now as well. Officially, we did it an hour ago, but until now, it was 89.6, .7, and .8 Now it's a true 90.

Twenty past noon and 86 in my backyard. Might seriously make a run at the first 90 of the summer season today.

Did a Dunkin run since the wife is off today. Noticed a brown haze, especially towards the southern horizon. Might have been my imagination, but I could swear the air has a slight smoke smell as well.

So my May monthly rain total ended up being.... 12.99" One one hundredth of an inch short of 13.

I was wondering that myself. A muted sun usually does lower the temps a bit.

Interesting about the wind observations. It's nearly dead calm where I'm at, and I'm at a restaurant out in the open suburbs south of Tamaqua.

Talk about getting lucky....no, not that way... We got about an hour of broken clouds/sunshine, which dried out the lawn, so I decided to try and get a mowing and edging done. No sooner (mere seconds) did I finish cleaning up with the blower when a heavy squall blew in.

I need 0.26" more before midnight to get to 13 inches for the month. Crazy stuff...

Not that it can't happen, either. Hurricane Agnes in 1972 comes to mind...
