  1. it’s a very nice trail. have some lunch at the Pizza Chef in Andover. Excellent pizza. It about 40 miles from Lebanon right on the trail. just be mindful that the fish and game cops like to hang out on that trail because it is flat, straight, and can be fast
  2. i was out on the snowmobile up your way yesterday. Trailered to Depot St then jumped on the rail trail and headed up towards Lebanon. Tons of sled traffic, but the trail was awesome. very convenient spot to trailer to.
  3. .hows it looking Sat afternoon heading into MHT?
  4. some day i might write a song about wishcasting. James, my man, remember the time(s) you typed right here on this board that you were going to stop forecasting with emotions, and follow the models/meteorology instead?
  5. i am close to joining wizzy in the May 1st thread, even though i don't give a shit about thunderstorms. that's how i feel about this winter
  6. nice looking truck, looks like it's loaded. decent price, but may be a little high. make sure you do a search for comps to check prices
  7. some days you are the windshield, other days you are the bug
  8. i'm not Scott but as mahk alludes to below, some ppl get confused when the NYC and MA weenies post their panic drivel in here, where in most cases, it is not applicable to the NE subforum
  9. CON at 58 and LCI at 33 is quite the gradient over 25 miles.
  10. weird temps last night. i got down to ~38 at 7pm, temp went back up to 45 before midnite, with a low of 31 at 7am.
  11. went from a full melt with just patches and piles last night, to a winter wonderland with snow caked on everything this morning.
  12. i may have killed winter when I bought a new sled in November. my bad.
  13. i had deeper snow than the summit of Mansfield on Oct 30, 2011. I think
  14. Spent a couple hours yesterday cleaning up leaves, yard looked great for about 5 minutes. got home from work today, and there’s 2x as many as there were 2 days ago,. it’s that time of year. Upcoming storm will bring ‘em down
  15. it's a bit on the late side, but you will be fine. you may not see immediate results this year so late in the season, but it will help in the spring for sure.
  16. acorn disaster in progress. i had a lot 2 or 3 years ago, this years bounty looks like 2 or 3 times that.
  17. have a cheesesteak, maybe throw some batteries at Santa. What else is there to do in philly?
  18. that event was definitely an interesting one. i was in MHT that day and it was raining with some occassional flakes mixed in. got home and flipped on the Pats game and couldn't believe how hard it was snowing (plus the score!)
  19. You need to get the seed to contact the soil. Just spreading it on top of the grass will be a waste of time and money. Aerate, or dethatch at a minimum.
  20. if you grab the dead grass/turf, can you pull it back, like down to the dirt? stick a shovel in the ground. if you see a lot of rice krispies in the dirt, you still got grubs.
  21. cut low (~2-2.5"), rake/dethatch if needed, plug aerate, seed. Then take 2 weeks off from mowing. if you want to do a true overseed, then renting a slit seeder is the way to go. it's hard work, as the machine is quite heavy.
  22. MPM, I always do my overseeding Labor day weekend. gives several weeks with decent temps for the grass to grow, and several weeks until leaf pickup season begins. Tblizz, azaleas are very sun-friendly. i have a couple that see full sun all day long. they are bedded in about 6" of loam on top of 2-3' of sand. my guess is that either yours are diseased, or they just didn't "take" when they were planted.
