2026 Mid-Atlantic Severe Storm General Discussion
paxpatriot replied to Kmlwx's topic in Mid Atlantic
Got a brief warning up here in Greencastle. Not the longest duration storm, but it packed a punch. Some tiny hail with it. Looks like it blew up pretty good to my east in Waynesboro, PA. I’d say anywhere along the M/D should watch out on that line.- 269 replies

Man, there is “Dr. No” and the 18z Euro: “Dr. Go **** Yourself”. -

Excellent! We got a grass topper over here, crazy what a difference 10 miles is on this one, lol. -

Grass is covered here but paved surfaces ended up with nil. Very unimpressive and busted event forecast-wise west of 15. -

There was this brief moment around 4pm or so where it looked like this was going to work out…then it stopped snowing, lol. At some point, I’m looking forward to the western crew getting a good winter again! -

Temp dropping again under this latest band. Down to 32.4. Roads are fully caving now. Man, if this could have come after dark. -

I’m going under. Safest bet right now, lol. Maybe we get lucky and get the edge of the IVT, definitely a better chance over your way on that. -

Yeah, we’re down to snizzle here after a good start. Need to hope for the IVT later for us. -

Moderate snow and 32.7 here. Grass has caved but the roads and walkways have been stubborn. Friend just sent me a pic from Sabillasville area. They have several inches already. -
What a weird storm. Pretty rare to see the Euro make a crazy jump like that at the last minute.
-
@Chris78jack on the Euro, lol.
-
Brutal cutoff to the NW. still think I’d take my chances with that H5 look and would expect better results in the end.
-
lol, how do we get an ignore on quoting posters that we have on ignore? Asking for a friend.

Couldn't tell what color was which because they all blurred together with Atari-style graphics. But you just knew somewhere in that rainbow vomit were some 3-foot lollies. -

It's been pretty terrible overall but this feels like next level--even for it. -

Honest question: have we ever seen a major model so far out on a solitary limb like this at a 3-day lead? I can't remember anything like this in recent memory. -

We’re 3 days out. If the GFS is light years off at this point, might be time for a toaster in the bath for it. -
Folks, don’t like to banter in this thread…but can we please stop quote-posting the trolls? Signed, most of the board who has them on ignore…

We’ll see how much today’s torch leaves us by tomorrow.

WCPS just called the same.

This post made me look closely out the window here in Hagerstown. I've seen a few mangled flakes, but this air is super dry this morning so it looks like mostly virga. Maybe those slightly better returns out west of me are doing a little better?
