My son and his girlfriend are headed to the cabin with some friends to snowmobile, as they are still grooming the trails (as of yesterday), and trying to get another weekend on the trails before it gets patchy. Still a decent 12" OTG up in north central (up on top).

I just went the back way to work and most fields are still covered/rideable. Edges takin the hit though. Sleet/ice layer did what i expected as a glaze of ice is blanketing the snow that remains. Hangin onto as many days as we can but I'd think by Sunday it becomes patches around my area. Friends that live between Manheim and Etown were out on snowmobiles last night. Its been a great year.

LOL. I've spent very little time there, as we've been doing well straight outta the gate, and the chatter here has been enough to keep me "home". I really don't envy their position literally and figuratively, and while I can be a jerk just like anyone, I prefer the high road....and not kicking a forum when they are down, and other than the northers/westers in their group, its been a crappy winter for many down there. edit - but when the playing field is level....it's sorta fun

Unfortunately our climo is much closer to the MA forum than the Upstate NY guys, so I understand why many here visit.

Last year he went on a "clean out the trash" kinda deal and like Mitchnik, got sick of the "aint happenin" kinda crap. Like it or not...snow is serious friggin sh!t to many of us (me included). I know far less, but put time into my thoughts/reasoning, and I can imagine how pissed he musta got trying to sift through the weenie rubble. Hell, I've gotten tired at times. I tip my hat to guys n gals like Chill/Psu/USAF and the like. They need permanent storm mode IMO....

yes he was on Crackuweather forum. I know some went to Phillywx, and other places. I went form eastern/accu....to here. This is likely where I'll stay (although my IT guys just blocked me from TT so this may be next . No more weenie maps from work....

hamlet.....lol I like that. Yeah its been like that down there for a long time. I have thick skin and dont really give a rats @ss when I post there, because just like in our hamlet, I try to back up my disco w/ reasoning for my feelings... The constant rubble that's only allowed by "them" is really noticeable, and really detracts from a rather knowledgeable core group. It's also a reason that several/many good contributors have stopped posting (which can be said at varying deegres in any subforum I guess). Thats a shame. If you really dont want to contribute anything of substance ....fine....just lurk and keep fingers off keys..once in a while poking fun/off topic is fine, but It can be pretty ugly down there.

As I'm relatively new to the arthritis deal, i was wondering how much cold accentuates it. I have to say I too notice a diff in my hands today. Not great but better. If theres truth to it, thats not gonna help my love of snow in the years to come.....sh!t.

52 in my car an hour ago. Prob a couple ticks higher now. Snowpack is holding tough here though. Might just sneak out for a couple loops to hit it one last time before my precious snow goes buuubbbyyyye

I don’t care if it hits 70 as long as I see snowpack. As of 1/2 hr ago Etown has plenty left to snowmobile tonight. (and I saw fresh tracks from this morning). All I care about. I wanna go tonight at home and wife just asked me out on a date. Ughhh. Running outta time.
