  1. I'm near Winston-Salem and I have no idea either. Well, I have an idea but I would take the under if betting...
  2. What still bugs me is RAH still calling for S or SW winds during the storm. That screams to me WAA which I thibk will cut down snow totals. Hope I'm wrong
  3. Well, we aren't the Middle Atlantic forum, so we got that goin for us.
  4. Correct. We will predominantly be sleet after an hour or 2 of snow i think
  5. Cranky seems to think most of NC will have IP/ZR (start as snow) I tend to agree with him
  6. From RAH for Forsyth Co. I'll soon be 65 and I can count on one hand how many times I've seen anything over a dusting from S or SW winds. Not sure what the deal is there. FRIDAY...Mostly cloudy. A chance of snow in the afternoon. Little or no snow accumulation. Highs in the mid 30s. West winds around 5 mph, becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of snow 50 percent. .FRIDAY NIGHT...Snow. A slight chance of freezing rain after midnight. Moderate snow accumulation. Cold. Near steady temperature in the upper 20s. Southwest winds around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation 90 percent. .SATURDAY...Partly sunny. A chance of snow in the morning. Highs in the lower 40s. Chance of snow 40 percent.
  7. Good question. Every freaking time. This time moisture wanes, next time too warm. Should have trusted the models when they said cold and dry.
  8. I would think a great deal of virga will be going on at that time. Not sure if model picks up on this or not. Lots of very dry air to overcome.
  9. Both discussions out of GSP and RAH mention a true Miller A and if that is the case, it usually becomes a case of a smaller transition zone of ice between all snow and plain rain. This feels like an I-85 special as someone mentioned earlier. The further north you are of I-85 the more time you will spend in all snow.
  10. It's been pretty steady but I have a feeling it's a little too gracious on the snow side. I hope it's right though!
  11. Still ZR here in Forsyth county at 32. Glaze on trees and deck. Dog and I found out roads are fine in my neighborhood. In-Situ CAD is kind of amazing.
  12. Yes, it certainly is. And yet fantasy storms is all we have.
  13. Not sure who should do it, but maybe a different thread for Sunday/Monday system so old people like me don't get confused on which short waves we are tracking?
  14. Brick is back and will bring the mojo we need!!
  15. Seems like that is a Euro model bias we've seen in the past.
  16. Your best bet is to head for Lake effect areas of western NY if you want to see intense snowfall and thunder.
  17. 1985 record cold blast had very little snow with it. I think we had a small event right at the end of the cold pattern. But no big dogs.
