  1. Peeked out the window to see all the grass tips covered. Maybe 1.5-2". Dumping in this winter.
  2. I think you'll shovel once or twice before the month is out.
  3. I was 13 and it's really the first storm of which I have full memory.
  4. Glad to see this still stokes the memories of people here, as for a lot of you I think, in terms of snowfall amounts, the 1999 storm has been usurped by more recent storms. Not me though. Still holds the gold in therms of amounts (15.1") and ferociousness. As Hoosier mentioned, very unusual storm in terms of how widespread the foot plus amounts were to the east of the storm track. Where I live, you'd think the most prolific snow producing storm would be an Apps runner, not something that passed over Traverse City. It was preceded by a horrific December in 1998, much like we're having this year (even warmer though, but just a snowless. And November 1998 wasn't as much as fun as this November either). Just mention that to give hope to the hopeless. Things can turn on a dime.
  5. Can stick a fork in December. I prefer back-loaded winters to the opposite, so hopefully the patience pays off.
  6. Even though the Nino's nowhere near as strong, this winter has a 1997-98 vibe going on. First sig snow in November, next one probably not 'til March.
  7. Funny how with age, just a few snow-globe flurries are enough to satisfy me. Big storms are overrated (and basically unattainable where I live). Learn to find contentment in the small stuff.
  8. I wonder how all those spring-haters are feeling now? Do they really not yearn for it a bit at this point?
  9. Yeah, tomorrow night was looking good for the longest while and now it's evaporating. We just keep rolling snake eyes over and over again.
  10. Saying the same thing to myself. Everything finds a way to miss us. Mid-meek storm looks wet too now. I thought Snowstorms was going off the deep end when back in mid-March he said we wouldn't see 0.9" of snow the rest of the way. Looks like he'll be right. Smh.
  11. No. Since Feb 11th, no synoptic snow (aside from a few tenths here and there). Nothing in sight through early April. Two miserable months.
  12. March 2010 was much warmer obviously. But yeah, no measurable snow that winter in March or April. The core of 2009-10 and 17-18 were much different for YYZ. 09-10 was a futility winter that sucked pretty much from wall to wall. This winter was ok up until the 2nd week in February. Then it disappeared. Honestly, can't think of a good analog locally for this winter. Usually when the snow season wraps up early it's because of premature spring warmth. Not massive blocking.
  13. Essentially 2 full cold-weather months without any synoptic snow. Really unfathomable.
  14. How can you put this winter, as a whole, in the same category as 2011-12? 15-16 there's more of an argument, but the winter of 2017-18 is nowhere near being in the same conversation as our futility winter. At least we'll be turning wetter starting next week.
  15. If you know the info off by heart, what's CLE's least snowiest winter?
  16. Moving back to London on Thursday Alan. That'll be sure to worsen your already bad luck.
  17. Hope you and the new little one are doing well! :)

  18. OL lives in Montreal.

  19. Can somebody provide me with the date of the December 1989 "bust"? I want to review it on the PSU NARR site.
  20. Glad you found this place!

  21. You must be glad you're in Texas. Far removed from all that snow that you hate. :whistlesmileyguy:

  22. You're my favorite sport.

  23. Hey, isn't your screen name a bit of an oxymoron? ;)
