  1. This sucks. https://www.wpri.com/news/local-news/south-county/fire-breaks-out-at-matunuck-oyster-bar/
  2. You can also click the airport then monthly summaries and get charts like this.
  3. I'm sure there will be some wood smoke wafting up north but temps look to rebound quick.
  4. https://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/ASOS/current.phtml?sortcol=ts&network=CT_ASOS&metar=no&sorder=asc&format=html
  5. Turned out to be a beautiful sunny day here. BDR with the high of 76.
  6. Post up the charts. It's a completely different climate zone down here. Same growing zone as the mid Atlantic (7b) per the 2023 USDA map updates.
  7. Maybe in NNE but down here it's been an exceptionally warm month both for highs and mins. DXR is+7.4...
  8. +5.9 for HVN and my central air has been running hard this week and month.
  9. Looks like a great dewy day today with some storms later. Current activity in PA has mainly dissipated and confidence in showers/thunderstorms this morning for our area has decreased. Latest consensus across the CAMs is we are able to clear out enough to get MLCAPE values up as high as 1500 J/kg this afternoon across northeast NJ, the Lower Hudson Valley and interior southern CT NBM was used of for T and Td today giving highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s for most and Tds reaching the mid to upper 60s.
  10. Yeah. They are outstanding units that behave like a mini split. We have some of the most expensive electricty in the US in New England. Anyone not running one of these is just throwing money to Eversource. I don't think people realize how expensive electricty in New England is compared to the US. Top 5 most expensive according to the EIA monthly data.. Hawaii .4269 Connecticut .3325 RI .3307 California .3166 MA .3044 https://www.eia.gov/electricity/monthly/epm_table_grapher.php?t=epmt_5_6_a A traditional window AC unit just cycles the compressor on and off at full speed at like 800 watts. They usually end up running non-stop at like 800 watts when that much cooling power is often not necessary. These Midea U are using variable speed dc fans and compressor. They can throttle the compressor down to as low as like 150 watts and run up to max at the exact cooling load for the room. They are also like 10 times quieter at low speed. I
  11. For South County RI this time of year I would consider this good beach weather. My truck hit 80 a few times along route 1. I think it's the sand in this area but right now it is one of the warmest according to the wunderground stations. It's even like 75-77 out on Pt Judith.
  12. Great Beach day with 76 at the Narragansett town Beach. Lots of people in the water. https://www.wpri.com/live-cams/narragansett-beach/
  13. 69 and beautiful out on Pt Judith with just a light breeze. I set up a station here at my sister's rental house a few years back. https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KRINARRA66
  14. Don't forgot to try some New Haven Apizza. I like Bar and Modern Archie Moore's has the best wings in New Haven as well. Please don't go to Wingstop. Also, long wharf across from IKEA has dozens of really good food trucks along the water.
  15. Yeah. I think we talked about it before but my wife and I also thought the insecticide long term wasn't a good plan as Imodclprod is terrible for pollentors. I could see all the dead green EAB adults all over my driveway and it was killing a ton of other probably beneficial insects. I could actually gauge how bad the infestation was over the years based on how many dead adults I saw. Early on my driveway was littered with them but only saw a few dead ones the last few years. Every Ash has been dead for around 10 years here.
  16. It's interesting that you can see from the rings even with treatment the tree pretty much stopped growing around the same time EAB hit.
  17. For you tree guys. @kdxken @tamarack Been keeping this monster green Ash alive with a soil drench of Imodclprod since EAB first hit in 2012. Had to take it down as we are getting a new driveway/drainage and the roots were so shallow. My wife and I counted the rings and got around 130 years old. Was almost 4 feet across the base.
  18. I don't even bother with seed. It's expensive but I just buy a strip of sod at my local garden center from Kingston Turf in RI. Just keep it watered and you get beautiful KBG with zero weeds as they are chocked out. https://www.kingstonturf.com/
  19. I've heard it'simiiar to a yellow Jacket sting.. Dolomedes tenebrosus, commonly known as the dark fishing spider, is venomous, but its venom is not medically significant to humans. While they can bite, they are not aggressive and usually bite only when mishandled. The bite is typically no more severe than a bee sting, and most people do not experience serious effects.
  20. AI image search results... What a beautiful spider..
  21. Purely Organics and yeah it's local as the bag says it's made in Portsmouth NH. I get it at my local garden center but I've seen it in some Home Depot's. The grains are probably from some brewery in the Portsmouth area as the bags say it's made from waste distillery grains. Even gives your lawn a hint of beer smell when you put it down. Haha https://www.simplygro.com/products/purely-organic-products-lawn-food-25-lb
