  1. About 1.5" now and still just pouring down flakes. I finally got to open that bag of salt I bought in November! (It's the little things...)
  2. Picked up close to an inch today so far (had to break out the ol snowboard)...just a beautiful, steady moderate snow. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  3. I just drove from downtown Asheville to my house. Almost perfectly clear the entire way until I got about 5 miles from my house, but looking back to the west I could see the cloud deck heading in. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  4. 22° with light snow falling already. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  5. Thundersnow? 000 FXUS62 KGSP 280305 AFDGSP Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC 1005 PM EST Thu Feb 27 2020 .NEAR TERM /THROUGH FRIDAY/... Aside from the mountain snow totals, the other major issue will be rapidly steepening mid-level lapse rates as the upper shortwave crosses the southern Appalachians Friday. Anticipate plenty of 7+ deg C/km 850 to 500 mb lapse rates transiting the region. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  6. If that happens, please message me. I'll bring the snow over to ya.
  7. They basically said the same thing for last night's nwf too. Hold out hope, Joe!
  8. Is the 32km better in these situations than the finer grid versions? I always thought the 3km and 12km would handle these situations better with variations in topography and their finer resolution, and I take of mean of what all three show...but I could be wrong...and if I am I'd like to know!
  9. Looks like GSP is in the process of a big update in the forecast. My hourly forecast shows 6.5" of snow now through Saturday, up from 1-3" earlier. Up to 36.25" this season now. Within 10" of last season's total. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  10. It's currently 24.1° here and I've lost about half an inch if snow today. As dry as the air is I'm sure it's sublimating.
  11. The 3km nam had some big amounts, overdone I'm sure. 12km looked okay too...I'm guessing you're speaking of the 32km? Regardless, you're absolutely right. The signal is there. That's what matters right now. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  12. Like Joe said, the wind has blown the snow around up a lot but I found 3.5" in several places just now. And it's still snowing.
  13. 29 with heavy snow and an inch on the ground so far. Visibility was near zero on the 3 mile ride from the front gate of Wolf to my house.
  14. Some really nice returns developing upstream on Morristown radar. Snow stopped here for now and the wind has begun to really pick up.
  15. Moderate rn/sn mix and 36.1/35 up here. Temperature dropped 6 degrees in the last hour. Edit: sleet now and 35.
  16. That makes total sense. I just didn't pay close enough attention to the wording. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  17. This morning I learned that GSP doesnt issue WSW's when the criteria is only met above 3500'. Seems odd to me. 000 FXUS62 KGSP 261144 AFDGSP Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC 644 AM EST Wed Feb 26 2020 ...Will issue a Winter Weather Advisory for locations above 3500 feet where now totals will be highest. Lower elevations will see snow showers, but amounts should be limited due to typical NW flow factors. Elevations above 5000 feet could even see warning level snow, but due to local agreement, we don`t issue warnings for just those elevations. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  18. 0z 3km Nam is still really impressive in the upslope areas tomorrow night. I wonder if we'll see WSW's for above 3500 going up. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
