About 1.5" now and still dumping big wet flakes.

Already over 1/2" on everything. This is gonna be a good day! Absolutely pouring snow right now.

Down to 32 here in Wolf with moderate snow. And it's having no trouble sticking at all.

That really is an awesome rain gauge. How's the accuracy?

I wouldn't say they nail nwf events. Not insulting them. Not insulting them--they do great work-- butI can think of at least four or five times last season when they predicted an inch or so and we got several inches.

How are we feeling about the Euro's short range accuracy? Has it performed decent?

Picked up another 4.5" since last night up here. That puts me at 15.25" with moderate snow still falling. It's noticeably warmer outside too this morning.

I'm up to 10.75" now and it's starting to intensify again. May be a good thump tonight.

I spent years wishing for a forecast like this when I lived in central SC. This will be on top of the 2-3" still on the ground up here. Saturday Night Snow, mainly after 8pm. Low around 25. East southeast wind 7 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible. Sunday Snow. High near 31. East wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible. Sunday Night Snow likely, mainly before 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 30. East northeast wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Monday A 40 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 35.

On the NWS forecast page, look near the top and click on the headline major winter storm expected. Then on that next page click the top left blue tab next to the red hazard tab. It's near the middle of the next page under the paragraph in bold.

I'm starting to wonder if convective activity on the gulf coast will affect the moisture transport.

First, amazing post, HT. Usually long post are exhausting to read. You're an excellent write, too! I'm curious to see if the warm nose reaches me up here at 4400', but honestly I'd be happy with another 4-5" event like today...and a little thundersnow.

3 " of new snow this morning at 4400' in Wolf and it is coming down pretty good still. 18.3°/17 I feel... optimistic...about this weekend.

Moderate snow with about 1/2" on the ground up here. 21.1°/19.

I'm much better off 4400' up.
