  1. I see the GFS showing some spots of blue in the favored nwf areas around next Tuesday. I have zero faith in it happening, but it sure is nice to see a cooler pattern on the way!
  2. High of 62° today. Currently 61/59 and cloudy.
  3. Our deer have had their winter coats for about three weeks now in and around Wolf. Looking through my photos, it was just about this time last year that their coats started changing. They also seem to be thicker than last year too, but with all the lush vegetation from the rains that's not a surprise. And we have wooly worms everywhere...but we did last year too, so I don't know what to make of that. I'll send you a couple pics on FB messenger. Hope that helps!
  4. I'm ready for the rain to stop. It's been raining for most of the day here in Wolf. That nw flow is working it's magic tonight for sure.
  5. Went up to the top of the bald today and got drenched. Pretty strong winds at 5500'.
  6. That's what I did. 20 years of Columbia SC summers is enough. Now I live at 4400' and never reach 80°.
  7. A rainy, 56° morning here in Wolf. Definitely feels like fall.
  8. I see 40's for overnight lows on the way midweek. It'll be nice not to wear the air for a few days.
  9. Check out the Art Loeb trail, you can't go wrong. You can also take the Parkway South of town to Mt. Pisgah ( when you get here look SW of the city and it's the mountain towering over everything with the TV tower on it.). There's a short trail that leads to an old lookout tower that you can climb most of the way up on. The view is unparalleled. Also the arboretum is great but you have to pay for admission. And breweries... That depends on your beer preference. If you enjoy IPAs I favor New Belgium or Highland. Wicked Weed is okay, but it's real touristy. If you like sour beer then Greenman is the place.
  10. I'll take anything close to what I got last winter up here.
  11. Welcome back temporarily! It's been like living in a rainforest this summer! I've never seen so many fireflies.
  12. Rainy morning and 55° up here in Wolf. I'm ready for leaf season.
  13. One of my favorite parts of summer. This was last night on the bald looking WSW.
  14. where's the call map SF? Been looking for it!
