  1. Had a low of -4° this morning. Not exactly flip flop weather.
  2. That just sounds painful man. 80 sounds really nice right now.
  3. Well I walked to the top of Big Bald (5500') a few minutes ago thinking I'd get some cool eclipse shots with the snowpack. I got moderate snow still falling and 30+ mph winds with a temp near 0. There's at least 5-6" up there in less exposed areas. I'm over 3" now at my house.
  4. Just had this guy at the back door. You can see how small and numerous the flakes are up here today.
  5. This stuff is tough to measure because of how easily it gets blown in the wind. Two boards had just over 1.75" and the one most exposed to the wind has 1.25". 13.4°/12 Wind NW @24g38
  6. Down to 14.1° with about .75" of super powdery snow on the ground and light snow falling.
  7. I'll take it! -048>052-058-200400- /O.NEW.KGSP.WW.Y.0003.190120T0600Z-190120T1800Z/ Avery-Madison-Yancey-Mitchell-Swain-Haywood-Graham- Including the cities of Ingalls, Banner Elk, Newland, Faust, Mars Hill, Marshall, Walnut, Allenstand, Hot Springs, Luck, Swiss, Burnsville, Celo, Micaville, Ramseytown, Busick, Spruce Pine, Poplar, Alarka, Almond, Bryson City, Luada, Wesser, Waynesville, Waterville, Canton, Cruso, Cove Creek, Robbinsville, and Stecoah 304 PM EST Sat Jan 19 2019 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 1 PM EST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Black ice and accumulating snow. 8. Picked up a dusting of snow overnight. Currently light snow and 27.
  9. Received a little more than an inch of snow overnight. Better than nothing!
  10. GSP says maybe an inch or so up here tonight. Last January that wouldn't have really been notable up here. I do enjoy walking the dogs in just one layer though.
  11. That should push KAVL over the top for the wettest year on record. I don't mind the liquid...the 9" from a few days ago has quickly turned to ice that I keep falling on (head first, twice lol). It needs to go away.
  12. I got about 1/2" overnight to add to the 4-5 still on the ground.
  13. I love a full moon with a fresh snowpack. Just took these with my cellphone.
  14. I'm at 31.5". It was March before I had received that much last year. And this is DEFINITELY not Columbia.
  15. Coming down Scronce Creek.you could see this really well. There was nothing until I reached the gap. And then once I reached 4kft in my neighborhood the accumulationchanged dramatically. I just measured 8-9" in several spots, 8.75" on my board. Tomorrow night is gonna be great...a full moon is gonna make for some awesome photos.
  16. Just under 7" of paste on the ground here and still snowing. This has been a great NWF event.
