    I know a guy who wears shorts when it's in the 40s.

    Scoring well is the hard part, I used to have a good short game and scored okay even though I didn't hit it far. I worked on hitting it further, but my short game suffered, and I scored worse. If I had the time to put in I could have been better but work always got in the way. I'm certainly not a natural but do enjoy the game. What's not to like, being outdoors, sunny weather, couple of beers and a bite after the round.

    We used to start our league second week of April but we could never get all the weeks in April in and if we did, we were golfing in cold drizzle at times. I remember one year golfing in 38 degree drizzle, couldn't wait to get into the clubhouse. We ended up moving the start day to first week of May here too.

    Is your road unpaved? I come across unpaved roads in your area.

    They've been trimming on the road near me all week, they put all the wood through a chipper here. When I drive through CT I see logs on the side of the road from the trees they cut, they mulch the branches but leave the trunk, if I had a truck I could ride through the back roads of CT and get a years worth of firewood free.

    Same around here, I've been driving all over the road to avoid them.
