  1. Correct thanks, I had the wrong year. 12/30/00 locally had around 18-22" from that storm.
  2. Where I was in NJ by Rutgers I think we got around 7" from this storm.
  3. Love reading this thread, especially from the older guys. Your memories are amazing.
  4. One of the best snowstorms of my life living in cnj near Rutgers at the time.
  5. From the post earlier this year, I think that Jim Hughes used to post here and on eastern years ago, but then got run off the site from people bashing him. I believe he may have been from West Virginia. I remember that name though.
  6. I'm surprised, it hasn't changed for me one bit. I like the game itself and can't stand when they cut to the stands to show some dope that looks to be praying.
  7. They were so bad last winter that I had to stop following them.
  8. That is what happens when 10s of millions of people live and continue to build within 50' of an ocean/body of water. Yes it is rising, but we continue to build and people continue to buy along the coast, so it seems no one cares about our rising taxes. The costs are going up because of us humans continuing to live and build on the water just for it to be destroyed in a storm. Mother nature over the course of our history has won way more than we have.
  9. Interesting, I was born almost exactly 9 months after this storm...hmmmm I think people kind of forget about the 2006 storm is because it melted in like 2 days if I remember correctly. 93-94 is my second fav winter. Wish though I could have enjoyed it more as a 9th grader though. My father was sick from cancer, and passed on March 31, 1994. I remember one storm, it being 17 degrees and it pouring freezing rain. My brother and I were so ticked off. All the ice and snow though lead to near constant snow cover it seemed.
  10. For the NE, most forecasts were pretty terrible overall, even from the best. I'm not familiar with your regions forecast. Must have been a lot better than over here.
  11. Yup, soon we will be able to cook spaghetti in boiling ponds.
  12. Merge. Being in cnj and almost equal distances to both big cities, I liked when it was together years back. It seems like merging would bring out more posts from people thay are just lurking or rarely post now because they are mostly talking to an empty audience. It is really sad how peoples egos get hurt over a weather board.
  13. Not sure if it was said, but thanks for adding new bruns. I'm in piscataway and some days I forget to reset the thermometers.
