  1. 82 current, breaking record 80 set in '61. I was a tater tot back then and have no memory of it. We didn't get A/C until '68. Misery was rampant before that.
  2. 50f/50dp 1.92in @ the jetport.
  3. 2.5" of dry snow. Used a broom to clean the deck and porch/steps. Small north-facing drifts. TBH, prefer this to the heavy stuff other got. Fun times on this forum.
  4. Huge piles of dendrites! Wonderful! Reminded me of JBurns. :-(
  5. Nice fluffies right now in S. Lee county north of FAY.
  6. 21/7 13mphN very light snow. watching the ULL saying howdy to the coastal. have faith that all will get some dendrites ⛄❄
  7. Wondering when the last time all of NC was under a WSW? I don't remember it.
  8. This was my first thundersnow event. Tarboro, NC. My son's 2nd birthday was that Sunday, 02March. We made chocolate snow cream in a huge bowl and let him eat/play in it. Shut down the region for a week. Core memory. Hopefully, Gianna will give a new core memory. ❄
  9. I can never give freezing rain a passing grade. "F" for terrorizing us the past three days. "C" on the model performance, but truthfully, this setup was a tough one to nail down precisely. Hopefully, more and better winter wx ahead.
  10. https://www.readync.gov/stay-informed/power-outages It's a moving target.
  11. 22/21 light FR Would not be too surprised if Downeast gets a snow thump as this monster exits.
  12. HRRR is saying "It gone rain...and freeze....a lot."
  13. I'm hoping this thing performs as well as last weeks kerfuffle:
  14. In case anyone else was wondering. Flat vs. Radial Ice Flat Ice: Accumulates on flat, elevated surfaces (e.g., car hoods, decks). Radial Ice: Forms on round objects (e.g., branches, power lines). Key Difference: Radial ice is typically about 40% less thick than flat ice from the same event because it spreads over a larger surface area as it builds.
  15. One Christmas eve, I was 10 or 11yo, it snowed in Tarboro a few inches. I got my first real sled the next morning. And that was when I used whatever good karma I had. It snowed a few more times that winter and that sled had some dents by spring. Grateful for the memories. Hope the kids get some snow this year.
  16. J Burns meant a lot to this forum. Loved how he could lay a 'burn' on naughty posters. Happy trails, John, may the forecast be always interesting. <3
  17. High gusty wind or freezing rain, hate 'em both. Power goes out every freaking time.
  18. Lightly falling dendrites currently here in southern Lee near Harnett line. Nice :-)
  19. Happy to report light dendrites descending from the heavens at the moment.
  20. Itty bitty flakes, slight coverage on elevated surfaces. My daddy always said when it got really cold, "Nah, too cold to snow." My smartass reply was, "Then how can it snow at the North Pole?" He'd wink and grin, "Santa Claus."
  21. Not one single flake seen. About .125" ice glaze, thankfully no power loss(<knocks on wood).
