    This was my first thundersnow event. Tarboro, NC. My son's 2nd birthday was that Sunday, 02March. We made chocolate snow cream in a huge bowl and let him eat/play in it. Shut down the region for a week. Core memory. Hopefully, Gianna will give a new core memory. ❄

    I can never give freezing rain a passing grade. "F" for terrorizing us the past three days. "C" on the model performance, but truthfully, this setup was a tough one to nail down precisely. Hopefully, more and better winter wx ahead.

    In case anyone else was wondering. Flat vs. Radial Ice Flat Ice: Accumulates on flat, elevated surfaces (e.g., car hoods, decks). Radial Ice: Forms on round objects (e.g., branches, power lines). Key Difference: Radial ice is typically about 40% less thick than flat ice from the same event because it spreads over a larger surface area as it builds.

    One Christmas eve, I was 10 or 11yo, it snowed in Tarboro a few inches. I got my first real sled the next morning. And that was when I used whatever good karma I had. It snowed a few more times that winter and that sled had some dents by spring. Grateful for the memories. Hope the kids get some snow this year.

    Itty bitty flakes, slight coverage on elevated surfaces. My daddy always said when it got really cold, "Nah, too cold to snow." My smartass reply was, "Then how can it snow at the North Pole?" He'd wink and grin, "Santa Claus."

    Not one single flake seen. About .125" ice glaze, thankfully no power loss(<knocks on wood).

    Sleeting lightly for about an hour. Has picked up tp moderate sleet. Zero dendrites.

    Personally, I'm a big fan of sleet. It's like vintage snow. And never lost power during a sleet storm. ❄

    Whenever it does snow here again, and it will, it shall be glorious. I'm kind of a 'glass half-full' guy. In almost 70 years worth of winters in central/eastern NC been lucky enough to see two massive snows(Mar. '80, Jan. '00), so guessing my ticket's punched. Only reason I'm posting here in the Sanitarium is b/c I'm a little crazy ;-)
