In the best snowstorms for PHL and NYC I am the cold high that gets nada.  I don't see that happening until late Jan at best.  I don't see me going below zero anytime soon.  This is the latest in the season I haven't gone below zero yet in a long time.  Closest has been 5f this winter.  Also this is bullpuckey anecdotal evidence, YMMV. :)

Borrowed this from New England thread @rgwp96 thank you.

A lot could change if it cranks sunday! we could get an easy 6 inches just from Sunday afternoon if dynamic cooling takes shape!

I certainly don't but the euro, gfs, and rgem are not that bad for most of the subforum away from the immediate coast. Only the CMC seems like a complete whiff SE of I287.

I'm pulling for you guys!  Grew up in Philly but have lived in VT for 37 years.  I'll get mine, but you guys NEEEED yours!  Hope you all get something.  Watching the 18z euro come in now

Look at NNE, that's no good....also some of that qpf added there is not associated with the storm so it's worse than it looks

LOL, I know you are just taking the piss, they don't care about NNE.  We get ours nickel and diming it to the bank not synoptically. We'll pick up a few to freshen the white on Sun, We'll get a heavy few before the rain on Tues, who knows if the next will cut too.  But we'll get ours. We always do.  This forum should be a show on the bravo channel with all the drama

And Waterbury Center a few Miles SSE is goose egg on the ground.  While a few miles SSE of me is 4 inches.  Such a weird thing happened yesterday.

Faulty memory on my part.   After spending an hour researching MNF results, It seems to have been 11/20/1989.....ushering in a very cold six weeks.

I lived dec 1989 in a slumlord house courtesy of Brad Moore in Johnson, VT.  Brad tried to skirt laws and inspections.  He succeded.  In dec 89 i slept in full ski gear every night.  Visine would freeze.  He built two bedrooms off an old house and there was literally a 2 inch gap between the house and these added rooms.  That meant that -20f air would come steaming in non stop.  It went down to -30 and up to -15 for several days.  We didnt go above -10 for a week.  This cold lasted 2 weeks,  there was 3 ft of depth already before the cold hit.  And more snow came on the tail end and it was at least 4 ft deep.  But as usual, BAM dec 25. thaw, warmth and melting,  lost 60% in a day or 2 and then a rainy cold nye, that then all froze up.

This is amazing to me.  I came to visit Vermont and Johnson State college in August of 86 and said holy shit there's white on top of that mountain i have to go here.  And then I want there and on oct 4th Johnson got 6 inches of snow so it wasnt just Mansfield! I will never forget that snowfall in 87, absolutely blew my mind coming from Philadelphia.  Seen plenty of oct snow since but never that early so low.  Saw phish at goddard in 89 and it was 70+ that also blew my mind.  but i digress.  I remember years with snow on whiteface (the peak you can see from johnson) at 3750' multiple times in Sept during those years and this data shows that.  It also shows it hasnt happened since except 98 and 2009.  Great data j spin I appreciate you!  Im eventually leaving this house and I wish I knew where I was going so i could buy a pass, im just waiting to be bought out.  I have a good feeling about this winter.

I have the ws-7078 and think the same about it. I will say that there is another Ambient PWS around the corner from me so Ive started comparing and we’ve been close with the last event, so whatever happens isn’t consistent. I’ve thought about getting a regular gauge but just haven’t. They aren’t expensive, I just haven’t done it.

same , so cheap I am going to get on to compare.  Thanks for your input!  Also it's raining hard out there! suppposedly up to 1.15

SE flow ahead of the system hammering the east side of Mount Mansfield up here.

Already 1.25”+ at base of the ski area compared to an inch less on western slope.

  10. w2902-c?  Who has this?  Im starting to think the precip measurement is not so accurate.  I understand variability but I feel like I'm sometimes higher than I should be.  Escpecially compared to kmvl and kmpv.  I do know how far both are from me.  But does anyone in the area have a standard rain guage that they have compared to the output of this inexpensive weather station.  I think im going to buy one and compare.  It's been raining hard but I dont feel like I got almost and inch at this point.  Really just curious if other w2902-c users have noticed this

  11. Only to have it come to a close with a sweet THUNDERSQUALL.  I asked my partner if it started snowing yet and then turned on my snow light.  A second later WABAM, Lightning struck on what looked to be Blush Hill which I have a perfect view of, got a wet fluffy inch in 10 minutes with 2 inch flakes.

In my experience, chickens and even Guinea hens are opportunists, so unless they see a tick right in front of them they're not seeking them out specifically.   Path of least resistance food is their preferred method.  My in laws in NH have Guinea hens and I still pull ticks off me on their property.  As long as there are hosts (mice, other rodent) there will be ticks.

thanks fellow phishhead, you ruined my day, I thought guinea fowl were gonna eat all my ticks, sigh :(
