I won’t lie, today was 32/7.  Close enough to normal (which is 27/4).  But with the full sun it felt oddly March-like.  Walking the dog on the groomed path in town this afternoon, and the high-water content snowpack was starting to glisten a bit.  It was starting to corn up into a thin layer of wet granular, the type of stuff solar radiation does coming into spring.

5 miles to your south, I tread over ice carefully.  Nothing melting with the sun .  Dog literally walks on snow.  He doesnt know what to do, he does his spin to try and clear the snow and doesnt get why it doesnt work because it's so frozen,  (iv;e heard this spin move is is also to look for predators)

My one year old will not stop shitting molten lava....holy off topic, but the poor kid's a$$....yikes, the joys of parenthood.....maybe I'll soothe his wounds with my Final Call map on Monday.

There was nothing worse than when they have an explosive shit that goes out of the diaper up their whole back and then dries while they are sleeping.  Oh the days I dont miss, literally need a brillo pad to get that shit off

Would not be surprised based on water vapor
presentation of s/w energy and mid/upper lvl trof, this system is
stronger than modeled and is slower to shear apart in the fast
confluent flow aloft acrs the NE CONUS, resulting in a slight
northward trend in pops/precip on Sunday into Monday. At this time,
best potential for a snow accumulation would be along and south of
    Interstate 89 acrs central/southern VT,

Some other notable WINDEX events I remember:

    Mar 3, 1996

Boy do I remember that day as my son was born.  I was living in Stowe, ex started having contractions at 7 am and I think we finally left for the hospital in Morrisville at noon.  What is normally a 10 minute drive turned into 30.  It was snowing so hard and was so incredibly windy.  Rt 100 was a mess with drifts forming across the road all along the rt.  White knuckle the whole way with a woman having contractions.  Never knew it was a windex event!

    Euro lol.

Better than the GFS by a huge margin,  2 storms in the long run even if one of them magically goes back NNW straight into VT and drops 20-30 mb.  Let's just enjoy chaos and hope it signals change.  Sensitive dependence on initial conditions FTW

  6. I wish I wasnt doing a timelapse right now and you could see this blizzard we are having.  But it's insane.  Snowy and blowy doesnt do it justice.  It's the first time I ever did this and watch it be shit

And, the more it snows, the more capacity the OTG snow has to absorb the upcoming rainfall without washing away. In a perfect world, the dryslot cuts off the spigot early.

I think the ski areas are going to weather this fine.  Net gain.  Same with the next.  And then hopefuly the euro gives that depiction for the storm after because that's a perfectnorthern vt snowstorm going right over the canal.  Not holding my breath but would be nice

Feeling pretty good right now with over an inch already down and moderate bordering on heavy snow.  Generally seems like net gain is on the way for snowpack with more limited rain impacts. This snow is going to load up the trees significantly just in time for arrival of fierce winds, so major power impacts seem very likely.

I agree, I dont see that much rain behind this.  Especially with elev.  Mtns will do good.  That wind in the middle of the night will be interesting.  Hope I sleep through it and wake up safe and sound :)  I love a storm where you can actually see it accumulate.  And that's happening now

It is just puking snow.  2”.

Apparently heavy sleet and ice pellets with strong winds west of Spine… then you drive into heavy snow in a matter of a few hundred feet crossing onto east side.

Hear I-89 and RT 2 through the Winooski Gap goes from like no snow and heavy sleet, to dumping snow like a switch flips.

Its puking here, an inch in the last hour easy.
