A line of severe thunderstorms move across Long Island last night. These storms produced tree damage and power outages to portions of the south shores of Eastern Nassau and the western half of Suffolk County. Doppler radar and observational analysis support the damage being consistent with straight line winds and downbursts. There was no evidence of rotation with the storms and no damage surveys are planned. $$

Just got a 90 (89.5) in myself. I'm sure we'll see a day or two in September of 90+ on the island.

If it does, it'll be the usual hot spots, LGA & EWR, around NYC metro.

Yesterday I couldn't get to 90, only got to 89.2. I'm sure we'll get another 2 or 3 days of 90 before the front moves through on Thursday. The S wind depending on strength makes it a struggle to get 90.

Only 89/79, HI of 103 currently. Did hit 90 earlier at 1:15 pm.

I’m happy for the bust. Still have my dirt pit for a backyard and I don’t want mud flows. Waiting on sprinkler guy and then sod to go down. Once OKX put their tweet out showing 2” qpf for area, you knew the models would back off. Never fails with them.
