Still think, albeit transient heat, between 8/30-9/1 we may be able to see some 90 degree readings.
If it does, it'll be the usual hot spots, LGA & EWR, around NYC metro.

89 for the high here. You usually beat me on days with a southerly flow.
Yesterday I couldn't get to 90, only got to 89.2. I'm sure we'll get another 2 or 3 days of 90 before the front moves through on Thursday. The S wind depending on strength makes it a struggle to get 90.

Wow. Pretty big bust. Good thing I water the lawn all weekend.
I’m happy for the bust. Still have my dirt pit for a backyard and I don’t want mud flows. Waiting on sprinkler guy and then sod to go down. Once OKX put their tweet out showing 2” qpf for area, you knew the models would back off. Never fails with them.

Hearing flights to JFK overhead, which isn’t normal. One flight to LGA was diverted to ISP.
Fire up Flightradar24 they are circling all over the area. My son and I were listening to LiveATC and watching the planes on FR24 app before.

Flood advisory and I did not see a single drop of rain. Life on the south shore in summer
.02” in Muttontown and .01” in Syosset. What a bust that flood advisory was.

Storms are fading out...not sure we see much
Yep hit a wall and then died once they moved this way. Typical, like so many times, and the flood advisory issued by OKX at 11:08 doesn’t look good either.

Thunder now noticeable in Syosset as storms approach.

Amazing light show from cells so far N tonight here along the N Shore. Wonder if the cells make it to LI tonight or die out.

It's mind-boggling how often that radar goes down. They have a serious problem and Mount Holly should be embarrassed about how unreliable that radar is. Upton's radar, on the other hand, never goes down.
Yeah it goes down a lot more often compared to OKX. Looks like it’s back up now.

Let see how much we can heat up before widespread storms popup today.
Up to 82 here, currently sunny.
Need to hold off those high clouds from the west a bit. Just had some come through and block sun. Currently 82 (81.7) now.

Just got a 90 (89.5) in myself. I'm sure we'll see a day or two in September of 90+ on the island.
