Just finished my car. It had over a week of dust from the foundation waterproofer redoing our front yard. I don't even recognize my car now.

Used to go up in the general area for the annual Stellafane amateur telescope making convention in Springfield, Vt. Took trip one year up Mount Washington in mid August. Nice enjoyable sunny day at the top. Basic sweatshirt weather with temp in maybe low 60s. Low clouds started to come in climbing the mountain then dropping on the other side. Then fog and since I was the driver for the group, I stated that I was not driving down the mountain in a fog. The ranger stood out in the road to block us as we got to the bottom and pulled up to exit past the gate. He had a kind of stern look on his face as he approached the car. He asked if we had a good time at the top and if we enjoyed ourselves. We were a little nervous and stated that we had. Then he gave us a little smile informing us that we had got down just in time... Whiteout conditions at the summit! I was thankful we left when we did. I'd take fog over snow coming down the mountain any day.

Currently 39 under the deck...35.2 at the PWS just up the road. Wife and I were going to wait going into frost mode until tonight but we may be a day too late as most garden plants uncovered. I just came back in from bringing our pineapple plants inside as a preventative measure. Brought my Meyer's lemon tree inside Saturday night to avoid the rush tonight. Gardening with North Carolina weather is so much fun.

Wife and I went up to the flower and pottery outlet off of I77 in Fancy Gap, Va this afternoon. There was still a slight covering of snow lying in the shady areas of the entrance road on the way in. It's waiting on the next batch to arrive, per the old wives tale.

We had some sleet north of Kernersville just after lunch.

I believe that someone either hacked the NWS Kernersville, NC forecast or their computer has had a major, major glitch. The official forecast is calling for 8"-12" both morning and evening for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week. Huh??? This clip is taken from my android NOAA Weather Pro app (can't be anything wrong with my app ). WinstonSalemArlington, is that you???

Just got done clearing out around the furnace for new heat pump install tomorrow. Whee can't siren to infirm me that it was snowing outside. I checked and found mixed light sleet and snow.

Looking at this picture again this morning got me wondering...could that heavier snow out east be due to some sound effect snow???

I feel for the people in the screw zone, but at least some still had a sense of humor. Van Denton of WGHP asked people to send in the amount of snow along with their location. A lot sent in pictures of a measuring tool in the snow to visually give their amount. A Triad person had his Wake County brother take a picture which he submitted for him.

Sublimation of snow is the process where snow changes directly from a solid to a gas without first melting into water. This can occur under certain conditions, such as when the air is dry and sunny, allowing snow to disappear without turning into liquid water.

Daughter from Greenville, SC just texted us this... Our police announced they are no longer responding to single vehicle crashes without injuries until this is over.

Give the man a red tag...heck, give him a gold tag!!!...and add him to the Southeast hall of fame!!!

How much snow are you seeing on the ground there? My daughter sent pictures and I thought Greenville would have seen more. She's off Wade Hampton towards Taylor's.

I FB messaged Van Denton on that one. He said the worst part on that one was that the models were calling for 2 feet. He said climatologically he couldn't forecast that.
