    I would not be surprised if out of Knoxville’s 10 biggest snowstorms, 3/4 of those had temperatures in the 60s or 70s within a week before the storm. I bet a lot of our biggest snows in or around Knoxville had a above average temperatures for the season .

    I have a friend in Livingston Tn and he does really well also. He’s at lower elevation but he’s just on the edge of the Plateau, so he benefits from NW flow similar to how Townsend or Gatlinburg would. .

    All kidding aside… he might be in one of the best locations for snow other than above 3000 feet in the mountains. It really does snow there a whole lot more than just about anywhere else in East Tennessee. You can see the snow up on the ridge tops there from Oak Ridge pretty easily. .

    Just seen where there’s 22,000 in Mississippi and 3000 in Tennessee that are still without power from the ice storm two weeks ago. .

    What was first of Jan like? It’s been cold for so long, i can’t remember what warm feel like. lol .

    Long ways to go, but surprise surprise, Knox County is cut in half again. .

    33 at my house in Halls and we have a heavy drizzle like precipitation falling. .

    @Carvers Gap had a good idea to post the Ft Sanders water pipe burst in this thread. He made good point about it being apart of the story with this event and it can be seen years later as people revisit this thread. .

    I got bored yesterday afternoon and so went across the street and cleared the driveway and sidewalks off for a lady that’s 85 years old and I did the same to my driveway. I am filling it this morning. [emoji23] .

    Mike Witcher has his own little private weatherboard that I’m a part of and some people in West Knoxville reported they had a little dusting this morning when I got up. It’s flurrying at my house now. .

    Maybe I wasn’t paying attention, but was it supposed to get down to close to zero last night? I guess I was suffering from a little bit of weather overload so I have it looked at anything in a couple days. .

    I was just told… because of the snow, our groundhog is running on a two hour delay tomorrow morning. .

    Isn’t our best Climo period from Jan 15th through Feb 15th? .

    I haven’t looked at the next system so i wasn’t sure if temps was an issue at 850 up or on the ground .
