  1. @jaxjagman what do you think? There was (I believe) a microburst off Tazewell Pk to Washington Pk in NE Knoxville yesterday when the storms hit. Damage reports in that area and on radar you can see around that area where the winds surged in opposite directions. .
  2. FYI… looks like we might get active this week. .
  3. Is your sounding from WeatherFront? I’ve been getting monthly subs to different apps seeing what one I like. WeatherFront is what I have now and I like it. .
  4. I have friends in Franklin, actually a little south of Franklin near Independence HS. .
  5. The NAM on Wednesday afternoon is interesting…… .
  6. Dropped my scrip to Aguacero and switched to WeatherFront. Really liking WF and it’s products .
  7. It hit a trailer park unfortunately. Likely EF3 damage outside of the park .
  8. First of next week might get interesting. This is d4-7 .
  9. That’s what my other Nashville friends said. .
  10. Here’s the 12z balloon launch from BNA And the 0z from last night. .
  11. Absolutely agree a watch could have still been issued. .
  12. Yeah, I would like to see observed soundings from yesterday afternoon versus what the cams were showing. I think the mid levels had a little more dry air in them which help increase several parameters .
  13. To be fair… none of the cams had that MCS like structure move through middle Tennessee. A couple of the mods had a system like that, but they had the system track more from Northern Arkansas, Southeast through Western Tennessee into northern Mississippi, Alabama. That’s why a slight risk was put out in the area where the mods had the cluster tracking. However, I do believe that looking at the atmospheric conditions of middle Tennessee yesterday afternoon, once those storms fired and it was obvious they were headed toward middle Tennessee, I do agree I think a watch was appropriate for that area. I’m not even sure that a MD was put out just to talk about the system. .
  14. Severe season didn’t even wave as she went by .
  15. I know it ain’t even April and this is kinda like someone calling off winter before January, but severe season in the mid south east of the Mississippi river ain’t looking so great this year. Week 2 and 3 from NIU… yikes .
  16. Oh goodness…. I understand the hesitation, but I’ve never seen models looked that good for a week out. .
  17. Sorry for the ignorance, but is that good or bad if you want snow? .
  18. So I guess I can tell this story now about Matt. (I wasn’t going to tell this out of respect while he was there) My mom was in an assisted living facility between Powell and Halls for a month or so not long ago. The first day she was there I went to eat lunch with her and Matt Hiken was sitting at a table. It took me a little while, but I finally asked the nurse if Matt could have a normal conversation with a person. The next time I went to see my mom I walked in the facility and on the left there’s a nice little sitting area with a fireplace and a big screen TV. There set Matt watching The Weather Channel. This was a day or two before we got that pretty good snow this year so I went over and sat next to him and I asked…. “what do you think about the snow, Matt?” he replied…… “looks like it’s gonna be cold enough, but they are talking like moisture might be an issue”. Anyway, that encounter was something that I’ve been thinking about the last day or so. I didn’t talk to him after that because he seemed to just disappear from the facility. (he was probably in the hospital and we did not know it). He was in a wheelchair, but his mind was pretty sharp It seemed. Makes me wonder if he might have gotten pneumonia or something like that. I wish I had talked to him more because it bothers me that I might have been the last person he talked about the weather with. Life is too short!!! .
  19. I do not remember that even though I was a senior in high school. What did he say about the storm? .
  20. Got a picture of the mountains this afternoon in the Hall of Fame area of downtown. Then I asked ChatGPT to remove the clouds. .
