  1. Based on others obs sounds like we’ll go back to sleet here too before too long. Fingers crossed.
  2. Maybe freezing drizzle and or light sleet here. I don’t hear pingers and barely even felt anything outside
  3. Back and forth between all snow and sleet with snow. Not going to accumulate well this way but better than rain. And I just shoveled and the snow is super heavy here. Prob from the sleet mix
  4. I’m about 2 mi west of owings mill and have probably 4
  5. In some cases, like if tempts are low to mid 20s zrain can be good but having heavy zrain with marginal temps will amount to nothing and actually warm up ground temps, whereas heavy sleet will still accumulate and will turn into a glacier after a hard freeze.
  6. Radar looks like sleet or zrain is coming up into Baltimore county now. Hopefully we keep sleet but idk. Looking out my window it’s still light snow. 3 plus inches I’m eyeballing
  7. Got 80/20 snow /sleet here just west of owings mills
  8. At this point I’d be thrilled with 12-18 hours of sleet vs mostly rain. But not sure that’s going to even happen now for my locale. LWX had downgraded my point and click forecast but probably still too high.
  9. Speaking of snow maps, WUsa’s latest is pretty sad. Where most have 4-8 or 6-12 they have 1-3. Could be right though, too early to say.
  10. They do. I think IAD only goes back to the 60s
  11. Dec 92 was one such instance. Just west of Winchester, over a foot...2 feet across the Wv line, and mostly rain east of BR. Same winter as the big blizzard which produced a lot more snow west of the Br. But you make a good point Ji, it seems to happen a lot less than 15 to 20 years ago. I lived in Winchester until 2017. We did get about 35-36 inches from the Jan 16 blizzard which I think was about on par or greater than Loudoun. There was also that March snow in '13 or '14 which busted badly near the beltway. We had about 14-15 inches in Frederick County, VA.
  12. I'm satisfied but but just mildly annoyed, lol. Especially since we just moved from Columbia I'm sure we'll get more chances down the road. I'm driving south into the DC area tomorrow so I'll get to see all that snow, albeit the day after.
  13. A frustrating day in Owings Mills. Life on the edge.
  14. Snow picking up in Owings Mills; I'm on a Jeb walk at Soldiers delight natural area
  15. Haven't seen any flakes or stickage yet in Owings Mills. It's possible it's snowing lightly as I've only looked out the window--working from home till 6:15.
  16. Really coming down between Mt. Jackson and Woodstock per traffic cams
