  1. Most places in the heart of the CAD jumped 6+ degrees
  2. Moderate Sleet ZR mix SE Raleigh holding 24 degrees
  3. Temp went from 24-28 in less than an hour under the heavy bands of sleet in Hudson.
  4. Looks to be mostly sleet for everyone. The entire Piedmont and foothills area was forecasted to have .5-.75” plus of freezing rain. 95% of that region has had 0 freezing rain. That’s a bust. A good one for people who want power but a bust none the less. The CAD was much stronger and deeper than modeled and precip was much less than modeled.
  5. Radarscope Pro tier also has a nice temp map. Here’s a gif from 7am to current of the CAD
  6. Weatherbug, great maps. Just toggle the temp layer
  7. It’ll be far too heavy to reach those totals. This was a bust for everyone. The moisture wasn’t there like it was modeled for the past week. You can have a killer CAD but if you don’t have the moisture it’s all for nothing.
  8. Yeah this model is on crack. Not sure how it can be off so badly.
  9. The NAM nailed this thing. Pitiful moisture here in the triangle. The globals were trash with totals. Hopefully all the folks that bought generators didn’t open them.
  10. Moderate sleet SE Raleigh. Looks to be short lived based on radar.
  11. Yep, short range models were all over it and the radar is agreeing with them.
  12. Light ZR and sleet and 27 at my parents in Hudson.
  13. It’s short lived though and will have no accumulation. Radar shows nothing of significance
  14. The public is pissed in the comments. The models really screwed everyone, especially the meteorologist
  15. I take everything he says with a grain of salt. Heck he posts screenshots of snow maps 7 days out.
  16. Looks like this could maybe bring the first flakes or IP to anyone under it.
  17. Based on the trajectory of the moisture downstream it’s looking like the NAM and RAP have a pretty good handle on the lack of precip for the triangle. I can’t believe how we went from no shortage of moisture on all the models until 24 hours out and it all vanishes. Incredible really.
  18. Not surprised. Looking like the NAM is going to take everyone to school on this one.
  19. Going forward I’ll likely take a 1/4th of what’s shown on the models and expect that until we get within 24 hours of the NAM and take a blend of that. Just downright pathetic.
