One other thing. My brother lives outside of Boston and last Monday texted us a picture of something looking like a wedding cake on his deck that was approximately 24 inches tall. This morning he said it is all gone.

Wow ! Finally some sun after who knows how many days. Temp has spiked from upper 40s around 9AM to 60. Now, if the golf course could start drying out.

I know last week there was a discussion about the total new snow reporting at Wintergreen. Yesterday, their Devil’s Knob camera ( golf course on top of mountain) showed the ground going from clear to snow covered, even the walkways. The three ski trail cameras also showed snow falling. Grass is still snow covered this AM but there is no new snow being reported. I think Devils Knob is the highest golf course in Virginia. -

Light snow in Lutherville. Temp now 31. Mulch and chair covers are only things looking a bit white. -

Interesting to look at the Wintergreen cameras. Stoney Creek golf course at bottom of mountain is just rain. Devil's Knob is snowing and snow covered (was bare the other day). Just rain in Lutherville Timonium. -
There is a category in the New England Forum called SnowStorm memories. In it, "the Four Seasons", red-tag, has extensive maps, etc on all New England Storms going back to the mid-90s. What is interesting is that he says: PD II updated maps coming next. Oddly, i just check the list of all historic storms i have on the website right now and theres almost nothing from Feb 15th to the end of Feb other than PD2 and 1999/2010 for big ones. Tons in March though.

The first(?) March storm was my first snow memory. My mother walked to our elementary school at the end of the block to take me home. Do not remember rest of March.

Growing up in central NJ, 60-61 was unbelievable. Three major snowstorms of a foot plus, The first, starting on a Saturday night (maybe Dec 9th) and ending Sunday closed schools for the whole week. The other two storms were in Jan and early Feb. Afterwards, I wondered why we did not get storms like that every year.

As someone who will golf in the winter, you learn sun w/o wind is bearable. Yesterday morning, my grandson went sledding with one of his friends and I stood outside talking to the dad for about an hour. The lack of clouds and wind (and many layers including my new Penn State hoodie) definitely made it bearable.

I’d say that’s how the 10” Cockeysville measure might make sense. Probably cleared the snow and then added the sleet total. I am about 5-10 minutes South to SW of Cockeysville and my accumulations are akin to Owings Mill. My ruler says about 8.5 -09 inches on the ground.

Dulles reporting as of 12:50 heavy snow. Assume that is automated and cannot be correct? DCA reporting light snoe.

Measured about one inch of sleet since the transition. Almost 8 inches on the ground. While Jan 1994 was the incredible freezing rain/ garbage cans frozen on the street, this also brings back Feb 1994 (I think) and Doug Hill saying at 6 PM everything looks good for a major snowstorm with freezing temperatures throughout above and then on the 11 PM news saying how do you measure sleet as the sleet was pounding.

About 7 inches in Lutherville Timonium. Big flakes now.

Measured 2 inches on the nose. Surprised it is so low as community roads were caving by 11:30. Very pretty to wake up to. Enuf snow though to close my club for lunch, the synagogue and other activities.

Really Interesting. Left my daughter's house in Roland Park (northern Balt City)at 9:45, and it was light rain and 38 degrees on car thermometer. By one exit later on I83 (Northern Pky) snow had mixed in and by the time we got home,about 8 miles and 15 minutes later, the temp had dropped 5 degrees and seemed to be all snow, albeit very light. the time

Thanks. I looked at Eastman earlier today as my relatives have a house by the lake and are ECA owners. Weird to see aeration in mid-May and not late March /early April. Will look into Lake Morey.

Question from a Marylander. End of July we will be in the Eastman / Dartmouth area for a few days. Wondering if any of you can recommend a decent golf course or two in that area? I may be able to get a tee time, via my club, at Manchester CC but that seems to be a good hour drive. Thanks

Around 3:45 some lightning and thunder in Pikesville followed by 15 to 20 minutes of decently heavy rain. Enough to chase everybody off the golf course for 20 to 30 minutes. Then sun came out and beautiful evening.

We definitely had rain last night in Lutherville- Timonium. Interesting in that yesterday, the course at my Club in Pikesville was very wet but last evening my grandson had a baseball game in the Roland Park area of Baltimore and the field was fairly dry.

Amazing in that the other four pitchers the Os used today ( which included two non-pitchers, have a higher ERA then Morton’s almost 11.
