  1. Low of 61f this morning. DP 60. Significant cloudiness too.
  2. A rather weakened storm just gave us some breezy rain in Annapolis. About 1600.' Looked pretty good on radar until about 20 miles upstream from us, then started falling apart.
  3. This occurs, (for example), in highway maintenance when roadside brush cutting crews pile their chips at the shoulder areas. I have witnessed this along multi-mile stretches in MD or VA, with multiple smoldering brush fires from different chips piles. They're not hard to control, but do get response from local FD. Also cause rubber-necking backups. (No surprise there). It's not normal; conditions have to be just right. But, it's a good reason to try not to do brush cutting in hot summer wx.
  4. Yep; just keep telling yourself that.
  5. Downright overcast in Annapolis for the past few hours.
  6. Lo temp 69 this morning, so starting a few degrees cooler than the past several days. Could hit 90 (yesterday's hi) anyway if more sun/less clouds. Had 0.05" from yesterday's rain.
  7. Not weatherman burnout I hope? Remember, many good souls stand with you. ( And maybe a few bad ones.)
  8. My Davis wx station ate up a battery, so I opened it up and found not just an ant farm, but a little wasp nest for extra measure. (Have had the ant situation before). Gonna try to upload some pics.... Looks like it worked. I used some borax based powder to prevent further attacks. This unit might be 12-15 years old, not sure. Have had to replace the main board because the early versions had a problem with battery life, and I've noticed that ant nests seem to exacerbate the situation.
  9. Low of 66f this morning. I thought we'd get a cool-down after yesterday, but not that much. No complaints
  10. Finally getting a bit of rain after about 30 mins of threatening. Had thunder and darkening to the west in the usual manner, then clouds and storm slowed way down. Looks like rain wall to my south. Edit 5:00; Legit T-storm now. Couple good CG hits out to my West. Sure did take its time to roll in.
  11. DId any U.S. station record sustained hurricane winds? Or even a gust? Highest I could find was 59mph
  12. about 0.10" yesterday/last night from the entire Elsa thing. Also, one of the cicada-dead leaves blew off a tree. Reasonably pleasant morning however. 69f and blue sky.
  13. Hi today of 92, and somewhere in there the max DP was 82, per Dr. Davis. Currently 80/76 Pushed the lawnmower and sweated like a hog this evening.
  14. Was just thinking that. Had a high of 91 yesterday, (barely), I guess forecast we'll hit 93 today, starting from 73.
  15. Since they expanded for the new (and enormous) Southwest terminal. You're not the first to notice. Edit: I think WxUSAF is in the ballpark with the 2017 guess. And the reason
  16. Spot shower here for 0.06", then later (i.e. now), it's steady rain. Brought an early end to the cul de sac picnic and fireworks show. 65f and rain.
  17. 2.02" since yesterday noon. Las night's rsdar showed a pretty strong storm in PG, weakened after Bowie, mostly gave us rain, (0.7"). Currently sprinkling rain, ovrcst, 69f.
  18. June total 2.48" Hi temp 94 (yesterday) Lowest 51. 6 days hit 90.
  19. Both my gauges agree at 1.17 (Davis) and 1.19 (real gauge).
  20. sudden and dark now in Annapolis . TS blowing in fast. Power flickering. Eta: power (BGE) long gone. Sky part clearing.
