  1. Agree...we will be tracking. All my stuff is old and will likely detonate during the first major event so I get a pass. Over confidence in old machines also portends snow. I’m covered. ;-)
  2. Wolf got a new snowmobile. I built a shed at my winter camp....all bad omens. If everyone pulled the plugs on their snowblowers and poured bleach in the cylinders it will snow like a bastard for weeks. Everyone has to do it though. And that goes for wolfs snowmobile. :-).
  3. Take them when you need to for now, but you’ll want to have something long term so work toward that with your doctor. I’ll also suggest try a half dose...literally cut the pill...worked for me at least. Xanax works buts it’s kind of strong. Klonepin is one I would avoid if possible. Message me if you want. Been down all these roads before but all good now so it is possible to get better and you have to trust in that.
  4. I know 3 young people that thought they were going to die from heart attacks that turned out to be anxiety attacks. They couldn’t believe it was anxiety attacks either. I had a go a few years ago with it. Symptoms were somewhat different but I could not figure out what it was. Finally a doctor gave me a Xanax. Put the fire out. Then a head doctor put me on a children’s dose of some anti anxiety/depression medication and it went away in like a month. Celexa? Can’t remember. Anyway it worked and I haven’t seen it since. I don’t take those meds anymore but I was on it a couple years. Definitely look into that possibility. Edit: PS benzodiazepines are not the solution...stay away if you can. Adavan is the mildest one if you must. Stay away from the others...Xanax included.
  5. Hopefully we can look forward to the bills for the next 2 weeks. Maybe something will appear on the guidance by then but I am not optimistic about February either. No until I see the whites of the flakes will I buy it lol.
  6. I was going to buy a new sled this year. I ride in the Adirondacks. Snow has not been abundant for years and our sleds are in constant need of hyrax and sliders, overheating issues and have even worn some skis to nothing. Low snow now for a long time with late starts to each season...like 7 or 8 years.! I got skunked 3 times. So I’ll keep the old 1200 and see what happens...it’s my rock sled. I have a camp and that is a questionable investment now. New normal.
  7. suddenly something to track at least. That was quick. I do worry about a wave of coastals with the upcoming pattern leaving interior in the screw zone, but miller Bs can happen in this pattern for sure. I was also wondering where the clippers are? We need some bread and butter snows. Those have been absent in recent memory...memory only, since they are inconsequential in the magnitude sense usually unless they re develop or in lake enhanced areas.
  8. Yeah set ups like that that are like the good old days of the Snowy Epoch before this mean reversion started kicking our gonads. We take, but you’ll excuse me for wearing an MMA-rated cup.
  9. Close shades for a week. Come back then and check to see if there is something to track. Can’t stand another January getting skunked. I wonder what housing costs are in Labrador?
  10. That’s interesting. I am from Elmira and down there they get ZERO lake effect even from long Georgian bay streamers. Binghamton can catch those while Elmira does not. So Elmira gets basically clippers, swfs, and possibly fringes of coastals, once in a blue moon they get the apps runner, and the weaker part of a Miller b since those are usually transferring just underneath the southern tier. Their average is 40 inches or so. That might be a baseline synoptic only average, plus or minus, for the western NY region. It’s a snow hole compared to anyone that gets lake effect.
  11. There is time to mend the sloppy phase. Tips been talking about this time frame. He also talked himself out of it earlier but there is time to mend that too. As soon as I saw the northern stream vort, I said “hello...what have we here? A welcome guest unlooked for.”
  12. Better than last January. Not that I am thrilled with it...
  13. Yep. Weenies had better tuck it in when looking at the longer range this winter. Lorena Bobbitt is lurking.
  14. I think the pattern will improve somewhat...but the idea of a great pattern with blocking and a good pac all coming together seems to be getting pushed back as we have seen before. I don’t buy anything but serviceable.
  15. New normal. I don’t remember the last normal winter?
  16. 2020 can eff right off. Let’s get some winter rolling and GO BILLS!!!
  17. I store stuff with true gas but you can get non ethanol gas from the pump way cheaper, if you look around for it. Snowblowers siting with ethanol will gum up carburetors big time - they tend to sit a long time between uses. I turn off the fuel petcock off to shut the motor off and let the carb run out of fuel every time I put it away. Saves a lot of agro. Startron does seem to suck. I use stabil or some 2 cycle oil - which is basically what I think stabil is. Everything with a carburetor should use non ethanol. Usually it’s 91 octane when you find it.
  18. Everything looks like shit over the next 2 weeks. I really don’t expect the NAO to save winter like the weeklies indicate. Sure we could see something pop but thaws will quickly follow. The hot garbage pacific will take the wheel thank you very much.
