  1. I don't know if this has already been posted but this is a great write up to share with others: https://www.weather.gov/media/gyx/DGT/DGT_GYX_08212025.pdf
  2. It can still be impactful for people. This week I heard of someone who had their well run dry. I don't know what type or how deep it is. It happened to us once in the time we've lived here. Or course, it was over Labor Day weekend and we had company for the long weekend.
  3. https://cwfis.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/interactive-map Really helpful map for anyone planning trips, especially to remote areas.
  4. We have forgotten to mention horseflies trying to attack you at the lake. And yes, we have water running down our hill in the ditches, a swamp on on side at the bottom and a lake on the other side. Plus plenty of trees for those bugs that like that. We have them all!
  5. The closest location I can find to possible snow is Radisson, QC. Maybe someone has the need for an epic road trip? I just imagine the convo at Customs. "Business or pleasure?" "Pleasure! I haven't had any snow since April and it's forecasted for northern Quebec."
  6. A while ago Northern NH had a decent amount of snow Memorial Day weekend: https://www.wmur.com/article/memorial-day-weekend-snowfall-in-nh/5133050 and https://weather.com/storms/winter/news/snow-winter-memorial-day-weekend-maine
  7. Although Cornell's eBird app will tell you that the sound identification in Merlin is not guaranteed to be accurate. Nonetheless, it's still an awesome app and I do recommend it.
  8. I've been keeping an eye on Saturday afternoon too. Plans include moving sensitive electronics out of a high school with a bunch of high school students being mostly in charge. We do need to be out of the school by 4:30 probably at the latest and can't leave anything there. I'd be happy to pass on any major storms. MHT area.
  9. Some of the high schoolers were hoping yesterday that we’d have enough rain to cancel today.
  10. So what I’m reading now says my house at 800’ at the base of the hill and the weekend event I have to attend in BTV is just going to be a mess of winter weather. nice
  11. Normally I love a good storm. Not going to lie but I’m completely good with skipping an ice storm. The maps are fun to look at but let’s not really go there.
  12. It did snow off and on today. There was a solid coating on some of the grass and the dirt driveway.
  13. Did that last week. It's the first time I've called both my rep and senator.
  14. I hope all our NWS posters are safe from the job cuts and aren't forced to work unwanted shifts.
  15. Almost two years ago, we had epic amounts of snow. This is our driveway after having been plowed several times. He just gave up and brought in the front loader.
  16. That 35 in the Monadnock area is close to what got. It pretty amazing. Our plow person gave up with the truck and just went with the front loader. Power was out for a couple days. When the schools could open, buses largely picked up in the center of town because they couldn’t get down the smaller roads.
