  1. Why does it need to be cold on Thanskgiving? I'd rather see it warmer for watching HS football or taking a walk.
  2. Probably somewhat of a hang over of the 3 yr Nina...hopefully we see a change as we head deeper into winter...even a 15-16 type winter (3 weeks of winter) would work after last year's ratter.
  3. yeah no high wind events or big noreasters last few weeks....
  4. Leaves dropping this AM with the 2 nights of subfreezing weather. We're still about 50% on trees...
  5. Nice. Almost 2 yrs since my trip there-would love to go back some day-the time change was brutal combined with the winter darkness-my brain had no idea when it was time to be awake...
  6. That is true-we have not had a strong windy W or NW wind this fall at all.
  7. yep-that low overcast that the sun can no longer burn off. Boring stretch coming up...average temps give or take and no storms
  8. Yeah mums do well this time of year regardless...I have a display on my porch that usually is good until around Thanksgiving....
  9. Problem with that is that there is too little sunlight hours/strength of sun this time of year-so while the growing season might be extended, the plants tend to stop flowering or just look sad waiting for a "mercy kill" from a frost/freeze...
  10. yeah there are a bunch here still-I figured 2 nights of subfreezing would kill them off but not the ones with the nest under our vinyl siding
  11. just need some cold-if we get the usual December Nino +5 or higher forget it....
  12. yeah I noticed the yellowjacket nest in the siding of my house was quiet-guessing they all froze
  13. my kids thought it snowed last night with the thick frost
  14. 40 here, had 2 graupel squalls with temps in the mid 40's earlier...
  15. even the annuals start to fizzle out due to declining sun hours and sun angle
  16. February 2021 too maybe but other than that it's been a torch
  17. seems like a LaNina hangover with the cold dumping into the west yet again...
  18. Was a huge bust-forecasts were low like you said-ended with 10-12 inches, from 50 and rain to heavy wet slop...
  19. 57 here as well-up from 50 this AM-some brightening as well but doubt we see any sun this far north
  20. GFS RGEM, CMC also warm, NAMS say no way....Satellite loop does show the cloud deck lifting slowly north so will be close for you...
  21. Same here-rain every weekend has made things saturated and with vegetation going dormant it's soggier now than say a month ago...
  22. Certainly not from NYC north. We have been stuck at 50 here since yesterday AM
