  1. Media has tried to keep the fear going as long as possible. If the 2 shot vax is 88% effective against this variant where's the story? That's right, there is none.
  2. This was way worse. I've never been at a ticket counter for 3 hrs or on a phone line for 3 hrs with anyone and most of the above can be done online now.
  3. I had to go 6 yrs ago when the Triple A license agreement thing ended. So had to go get my license in person. I remembert thinking "how bad could it be?" A truly awful experience-workers moving at 50% speed, no urgency to anything. Staff was miserable and showed it-rude and crude to everyone. Stuff that in the corporate world that would not be tolerated. I think it took close to 3 hrs b/w the time I arrived and left. Just insane.
  4. CT went to online for some things-I renewed my driver's license online-it's the prior picture that they took in their office 6 yrs ago, but everything else I did online-took 5 minutes-was glorious.
  5. Got to have something to try to scare us with-remember how the British variant would lead to a big 4th wave here? Never happened. Or Texas opening up with no masks and full attendance at sports stadiums? Never happened either....
  6. at some point they'll have to stop otherwise it'll go on forever. Canada too....
  7. zero or even close to it will never happen...this is here to stay insane especially with the US wide open now...are Americans allowed in Canada? a bad flu season can kill 40-50K Americans-we've never locked down over that....
  8. the good news is we're in summer here when life moves outside and spread is more difficult. Gives us another 4-5 months to get even more people vaccinated before we head into winter. I can't believe England is doing more lockdowns...at some point you have to get on with life. Hospitals can't be overwhelmed there or anything....
  9. Sun angle right now does make it feel warmer. 72 here.
  10. does anyone go to see the Orioles? Christ they are awful year after year
  11. crazy differences in weather over 60-90 miles-clear and sunny here and 72-raining in parts of NJ and PA
  12. just a weird setup-an arctic front stalled down I-91 with snow west of it and rain east of it.
  13. Most of the large ash trees around here are dead.
  14. Thank God. My sister in PA had some horror stories of old people with nothing to do going around trying to find stuff to bust people on...
  15. someone should put a copy of the pic of James memorial in the thread for him then re-lock it.
  16. it's a close match....but Not here. Feb 2010 was mostly rain here. We got 3 inches of slop at the end.... The rain/snow line in 2010 was further west for 1888 it was well east of New Haven, CT
  17. I need 2 weather repeats before I die. Blizzard of 1888 and Hurricane of 1938
  18. A Cat 5 into NY Harbor would do it....
  19. JB bullish on the EC from NC to New England-had a good post on it the other day with a bunch of analogs to back it up. He's always a weenie though so have to take it for what it's worth.
  20. neighborhoods look weird with 75% monster house with a tiny cape b/w 2 that the owner is still holding out....
  21. that's what's going on here-builders are going door to door to those houses and offering cash. Many are being torn down and up goes an 800K house in its place-soon there will be little to no starter houses....
  22. that guy is a nut-population control? Thousands dying from the vaxx itself? Lolz.
  23. If you don't need a vaxx after infection that will help us get to herd immunity all the quicker as unvaccinated folks get the virus, recover (hopefully) and have immunity joining the ranks of the vaccinated.
  24. yeah I've been to S NJ in late June-best you get is 66-68 and that's the last week of June. (We go in August now it's been crazy warm-like 75 to even 80 once in awhile.)
