  1. that's the problem it always looks good day 10-15 then it craps the bed medium term. This ended up being one of those warm -NAO patterns. Very similar to Dec 96....
  2. I'd be fine with this "pattern" breaking down, it has done nothing for us for the most part outside of some N and W areas
  3. different scenario models were OTS so the correction was NW-this is well NW now.
  4. Maybe even January...snowless decembers are never a good sign for winter....
  5. who cares we are all inside anyway...
  6. Classic Nina Cutter pattern....bunch of them in the late 90's too
  7. Pattern has been the same, cutter city. Why would it change?
  8. Brutal. Just can't win. Not over but not good trends GFS is an outlier but maybe the outlier scores a coup...
  9. umm because most models are moving AWAY from a snow solution?
  10. GFS an outlier. Given the pattern this month so far, the cutter/inland solution could be correct...
  11. Other models CMC and ICON are over MN-completely different evolution
  12. at least it's something exciting...
  13. This pattern is frustrating as all heck. Cutter after cutter....
  14. Airmass was marginal too-even places that got snow it was very elevation dependent almost like a spring storm...
  15. almost the entire state of North Dakota is under a blizzard warning.
  16. Thunder Ridge-my boys learned to ski there-some good memories. Definitely colder up that way...
  17. That Jan 78 storm was the Cleveland blizzard right? We rained on top of the initial blizzard that fell a week earlier?
  18. Most ski areas will do well-they need the early season snow for sure...
  19. Incredible. Amazing at 1pm the sun was barely above the horizon...extended twilight in the morning and PM with the oblique angle the sun rises/sets at..... Wished we could have seen the northern lights.
  20. Yep I get it. Went to Iceland last Dec-did the SW section-incredible. Had a +NAO so was cloudy/snowy/rainy depending on locale.
  21. RAIN for most that's why (friday) Most here are on the coastal plain but congrats inland
  22. Does it really matter? Xmas is an indoor holiday for our part of the country....what would you do differently if it's 30 out vs 55 out? - snow is obviously a different story I'm strictly talking temps
