  1. All we got right now is the long range. Hopefully we cash in, but maybe time to take a break this weekend from tracking and do something else...
  2. melted what little snow we had left here
  3. temps over performing today-43 here forecast was 37
  4. This is why any permanent DST scheme likely won't last. Most weren't alive when it was tried in 1973-74 and if anything we are all softer these days so folks will freakout with their little snowflake walking in the dark to the bus or school
  5. Agreed but you have elementary, middle and high school...staggered start times are needed for busses. The town would have to triple its bus fleet to start everyone at 9
  6. Not necessarily. Some years the pattern just gets stuck. I'd like to see a reshuffle at this point even if it means warmer temps-can't have snow without any precip.
  7. It was the happiest from 2009-2016 when we had all the snowstorms and cold. Been warm and mostly snowless since then...20-21 notwithstanding.
  8. my sons are in high school and they walk to the bus in the dark at 6:55am. Couldn't imagine the younger kids doing that. We don't run busses for 1/2 of an inch of snow I can't imagine younger kids going 3 months in the dark
  9. Move to Greenland and it will be.
  10. It was dumped after 1 yr in 1973-too many kids waiting in the dark for school busses.
  11. Just bone dry overall here since August.
  12. Get ready for some dark mornings in the winter-sunrise would be 8:18am in NYC even later for cites further west in the time zone
  13. Not really it would be surrounded by warmer maritime air-would be mostly rain
  14. we've gained about 20 minutes in the afternoon-nothing in the morning yet but that will change soon
  15. yeah there was a map showing the 2nd wave right behind it-didn't look right that's for sure.
  16. Seems like we are trending a bit better and for a moderate even I'd rather see things a bit S and E right now as the usual trend is N and W
  17. everyone leaving. NY state is in the top 5 for population loss in the last generation...on top of that there's nothing to do up there-you are literally not near anything of interest other than snow
  18. Likely wrong-doubt there was 22 inches anywhere
  19. yeah models backed away from that pretty quickly-seems like extreme cold/heat is often overdone in the long range-another reason to not look at OP models past 5 days
  20. that's about all we have had here too...tack on another (surprise) inch today
  21. What a bust here! An inch of snow after nothing was forecast. Road crews caught off guard-lots of accidents
