Look at radar, it definitely looks like at least aided it a little bit. The backside of that storm was a well aligned nw flow with loads of moisture. Tough to argue it didn’t with that track, temps, and unfrozen lake. And a snowmap like this.
This was a strong storm from end to end. Lots of tornado damage in Florida.

My uncle and aunt live in the hills of Binghamton. I'm going to ask for Pics tomorrow. They are literally in the perfect spot for this storm. They have quite a bit of elevation on their farm.
Very heavy snow will continue overnight. Expect snowfall rates
of 1 to 3 inches per hour through 3 AM with whiteout conditions.
Travel will remain very difficult during this time. Motorists are
urged not to travel. But if you must travel, be prepared for snow
covered roads and near zero visibilities.
Getting hit pretty good here. Some nice banding features from downsloping off ski country.

Models continue there flip flopping. 18Z long range now show several LES events rotating around with several shortwaves revolving around longwave through. Next weekend is my focus on a possible big time LES event.
