  1. On NE forum confirmed Met in Bing that measured 10" in 2 hours.
  2. Luckily I'm off tomorrow. Check out the webcams around binghamton. It's like a strong LES band.
  3. Are you measuring every 6 hours? Or just keeping track of snow depth, you’re likely well above 25” with compaction.
  4. It looks locked in place for at least another few hours.
  5. Look at radar, it definitely looks like at least aided it a little bit. The backside of that storm was a well aligned nw flow with loads of moisture. Tough to argue it didn’t with that track, temps, and unfrozen lake. And a snowmap like this.
  6. Possible 40” totals there. Has a chance at an all time purely synoptic event in New York State.
  7. Lake effect bands can generate up to 12” per hour off of Ontario. I’ve seen 8” In one hour here.
  8. This will be the greatest purely synoptic snowstorm anywhere in nys history. I don’t think anywhere has gotten 40” from purely synoptic.
  9. That's what I'm talking about right there. That is extremely rare in synoptic events.
  10. .3" from 3-8 pm 1.7" from 8-12pm 2" storm total. Will measure again in morning.
  11. This was a strong storm from end to end. Lots of tornado damage in Florida. https://www.wkbw.com/news/national/confirmed-tornadoes-leave-widespread-damage-across-parts-of-tampa-bay?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot&fbclid=IwAR2EvdhXD0B8vZhZABH9nrsNApVGOX2w7Y2xLf2TxWsI98yDqClZcKtGTUY
  12. My uncle and aunt live in the hills of Binghamton. I'm going to ask for Pics tomorrow. They are literally in the perfect spot for this storm. They have quite a bit of elevation on their farm.
  13. Very heavy snow will continue overnight. Expect snowfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour through 3 AM with whiteout conditions. Travel will remain very difficult during this time. Motorists are urged not to travel. But if you must travel, be prepared for snow covered roads and near zero visibilities.
  14. Getting hit pretty good here. Some nice banding features from downsloping off ski country. https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?parms=BUF-N0Q-0-12-100-usa-rad
  15. Synoptic doesn't do it for me. Hoping for at least 1-2 LES events this year.
  16. .3" so far. Pixel dust snow falling, my call of 1-2" sounds about right still.
