  1. It is officially the hottest day of the year, with a 4pm temp of 105°F at DFW.
  2. The ridge/heat was centered further SW, but it was stronger/more intense.
  3. Just noticed, Models have been hinting at a slightly stronger cold front passage tomorrow / Sunday. Could end our 100*F+ streak early with just enough CAA.
  4. 12z GFS was at least a step back from the insane 06z GFS. That was a whole 'nother level.
  5. Long range GFS is looking pretty brutal. If it's right, what we're seeing now is going to be a cakewalk.
  6. As far as the fantasy range heat & 600dm ridge, the Ventusky app is showing widespread highs of 115°F to 120°F across the Central/Southern Plains which would shatter any all-time highs. What would make that even more impressive if it happened is that the grounds won't be all that dry (except across Texas).
  7. Excessive Heat Warning now in effect for DFW until Sunday evening.
  8. Tied yet another record maximum low of 82*F this morning at DFW. The high today was 102°F, the 13th for this year.
  9. They're not entirely wrong about the potential with this setup, but using words such as "likely," predicting 90-100 MPH winds and using those terrible graphics is definitely laughable.
  10. Yet another record maximum low was set today (81*F) at DFW.
  11. Managed an intra-hour 100°F at DFW around 3pm, 11th day for the year.
  12. Yet another record maximum low was tied yesterday at DFW (80*F).
  13. As bad as July 2009 was, it still could have been worse (1992).
  14. My favorite weather app, Ventusky, blows up fairly widespread convection over the Metroplex tomorrow. We'll see if it ends up right.
  15. This should end up being the 5th warmest June on record for Dallas, only behind 1953, 2011, 2010, 2008 and 1980.
  16. With a bit more convective debris, only made it up to a cool 92*F at DFW today.
  17. That late June sun angle can work wonders. DFW made it to 94*F today, several degrees above forecast. However, the dewpoint were a decent bit higher (mid/uper 60s), so the heat index was at 96*F. Furthermore, with a low of 73*F, the day will end exactly at average for the record book. That said, this is the first time since 6/10 that the high was less than 95*F.
  18. Officially 100°F at DFW as of 3pm. EDIT: Today's high was 101°F.
  19. If Dallas sees another 100°F high today (will be a nail biter depending on the timing of the cold front and cloud cover/precip during the afternoon), it would be the 4th highest number on record for June, only behind 1953, 1980 and 2011.
