  1. frostfern might finally get the severe thunderstorm they've been wanting shortly.
  2. DFW made it to 100*F before an outflow boundary moved through, dropping temps into the mid 90s.
  3. There are hints of the pattern breaking down (though maybe only temporarily) late next week into next weekend. I suspect it will be similar to what happened in the last week of June, which was still dry but at least there were seasonably cool temperatures for that short period. Persistent -NAO blocking has prevented this Summer from probably being as bad (or worse) than 1980 and 2011, although at this pace, 2022 might end up being a top 3 worst.
  4. Yet another record high minimum of 83*F was set this morning at DFW (previous record was 82*F in 2011).
  5. And yes, yet another record minimum low was broke this morning at DFW, which was 85*F (previous record was 83*F in 2011).
  6. And even with mostly cloudy skies and the sprinkles this morning, it is still 100*F as of 4pm at DFW.
  7. Pretty chaotic forecast tomorrow, with the CAMs all over the place with solutions. Anything from mid 80s with widespread light showers to nothing with temps in the low 100s.
  8. Yet another record high at DFW of 109*F today (previous record was again 108*F in 2018).
  9. It seems Frederick, OK only got down to a low of 90*F. That may not hold though, with the light rain showers in the vicinity.
  10. Yet another record maximum low tied this morning at DFW (82*F, previously set in 1954).
  11. Oh, and another record maximum low was tied this morning (84*F).
  12. Today's record of 108*F (last set in 2018) has been broken. Currently 109*F at DFW. Now we see if the elusive 110*F+ high can happen...
  13. A CU field had developed by late afternoon, which probably prevented that extra 1 degree bump. Today's record might be more attainable which is 108*F in 2018. As an aside, as hot as this Summer's been, we have yet to see a 110*F+ high and have only tied one record high in Met Summer (103*F on 6/11). Part of it is that those records from 1980 are just insanely high, but still... The real story has been the string of record maximum lows.
  14. The rain, for sure. As far as temps, I would think 50s aren't tropical enough for them...
  15. Also, it is now the hottest day of the year at DFW with a current temp of 108*F. Record high is 110*F set back in 1980, which might be tied or broken.
  16. BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if that 86*F is broken tomorrow morning.
  17. No reason why the 86*F shouldn't hold at this point. One of those rogue rain showers did graze the eastern edge of DFW's airfield this morning, but fortunately it wasn't enough to knock down the temp.
  18. In theory, the low would be 86*F at DFW (another record maximum), but of course a couple of rogue rain shower has billowedvup across thr Metroplex. So that might take a hit.
  19. Today's high at DFW was an intra-hour 105*F. 22nd day for this year. EDIT: Make that an intra-hour 106*F.
  20. Tied another record maximun low at DFW this morning (83°F, previously set in 2006).
