  1. That late June sun angle can work wonders. DFW made it to 94*F today, several degrees above forecast. However, the dewpoint were a decent bit higher (mid/uper 60s), so the heat index was at 96*F. Furthermore, with a low of 73*F, the day will end exactly at average for the record book. That said, this is the first time since 6/10 that the high was less than 95*F.
  2. Officially 100°F at DFW as of 3pm. EDIT: Today's high was 101°F.
  3. If Dallas sees another 100°F high today (will be a nail biter depending on the timing of the cold front and cloud cover/precip during the afternoon), it would be the 4th highest number on record for June, only behind 1953, 1980 and 2011.
  4. 100°F at DFW as of 3pm, making this the 8th day of the year.
  5. You know it's been hot when low/mid 90s are "pleasant."
  6. Yet another record high minimum this morning of 82*F at DFW (previous record was 80*F in 2009).
  7. The million dollar question is whether DFW will slip below 70*F for a nighttime low Monday or Tuesday, assuming no precipitation. It might be close, and would be the first time since 6/4.
  8. Today's high at DFW is 103°F, tying for the hottest day of the year to-date.
  9. If it's any consolation, that's less bad than when what it looked like in early May, and nowhere near how bad it was in 2011 The MCS train at the end of May / early June really ate away at the edges in North Texas, the Arlatex region and much of OK.
  10. Already 100°F at 1pm, day #7 for DFW. Yesterday's high was 102°F with new record high lows set/tied both Thuraday and this morning (80°F and 82°F respectively).
  11. Although DFW did drop intra-hour to 81°F, that still breaks the previous record.
  12. Also, if the current forecast holds, June 2022 would tie with 1953 for the top 3 highest number of 100°F+ on record in Dallas, while only behind 1980 & 2011.
  13. Will need confirmation that temps didn't drop intra-hour, but yet another record high minimum was set at DFW this morning of 82*F (previous record being 80*F in 2019).
  14. After the past several days being 99'd, DFW achieved a high of 100*F for today, the 5th this season.
  15. 12z GFS and EURO runs were definitely the hottest yet in the long range, It seems although the temps/drought aren't as extreme as in 1980 and 2011, the pattern is definitely rhyming.FWIW, 2022 has tied in 2nd (just shy one day for #1) for the most number of 90°F+ days to-date in Dallas.
  16. Also, yet another record maximum low was set yesterday at DFW (81°F)
  17. Achieved an intra-hour 100°F at DFW today, which is the 4th this year.
  18. I suspect what trends would show, if one digs into the data, is that Summers today are more humind than in the past. I'm sure that's in part related to the ocean waters trending warmer and, in the Midwest specifically, winters trending snowier. Although humid heat will have you dripping in a lot more sweat, it doesn't feel as blistering on the skin as that arid heat does in places like Phoenix.
  19. One thing I do like about these type of patterns though, once we finally do get a cold front or MCS to break through, the convection ends up being quite widespread and intense.
  20. Welp, now we got the Saharan Dust making for hazy skies.
  21. So instead of a derecho, we ended up with several discrete supercells. The end justifies the means I suppose.
