I think everyone deals with some sort of effect. I def did when I moved there. The problem with tourists is they are running on fumes from travel and excitement and do ill advised things like start drinking immediately. One of the things that was really cool when travelling back east after spending a year up high was your alcohol tolerance is beast mode and so is your cardio system. Blood is loaded up to deal with low oxygen living and when you hit sea level it feels a little superhuman.

I can't count the # of people I saw faint shortly after arriving at the resort from DIA. Base elevation was 9600'. Unfortunately a lot of people puked also. Nearly daily in the rental shop I managed when it was busy. We bought airplane puke bags and kept them at the door with a sign saying "feeling even just a little nauseous? Please take one. They're free and much better than the alternative". Women were really good about it but men nasomuch... They would fight it to the end and barf in a crowd. Lol

Yea, there's no comparison to the championship year. Blake and Dixon were often deadly and Baxter owned nearly every matchup. Bench was solid. In some ways the team that year reminded me of an NBA team. It often just didn't matter who was on the floor. It just worked. This year we HAVE to have Smith and Cowan on the floor for the majority of the game or else... That's quite a contrast to how the terps won it all. Looking at some of the teams out there I just don't see how the Terps can beat the likes of Duke and KU etc. Playing to perfection is the only recipe while teams like Duke and KU have much more leeway. I'm not expecting a championship honestly. It's possible but unlikely. A trip to the final 4 would be f'n amazing and even that will require taking down one or more better team(s) first. We'll see.

When I flew to vegas last fall I had to stand every chance I got as my stupid sciatic nerve decided to drink coffee. Felt like a big dummy standing in my aisle seat but hey, the alternative is worse. Every single steward and stewardess asked me if I was ok when they walked by me and I just said standing is awesome, sitting is the problem. lol I feel for ya man. Hope things go smooth.

Agree. Lack of depth is a problem for sure. While the Mitchell twins didn't scorch the earth or do much in general during their short stint, losing 2 big strong players like that really thinned them out. Terps have shooters to make up for it but what do you do when you end up in a low scoring very physical game? More than one of those games will be no doubt in their way during the tourney. If the shooters don't light it up it becomes very hard to win. The big ? with Mariol is can he actually stay healthy? The shin problems are genetic and likely continue to cause issues throughout his career. I'm not a doctor and I may be totally wrong there but I've seen it before. Even with all the concerns you have to admit this is a VERY tenacious, fast, and talented team that plays really well together. Some of their offensive sets are brilliant. Great dunking team too. Not really a skill category but damn I love me some college jams. haha

One thing I'm certain of going forward (especially in the big 10 and NCCA tourneys)... Any and all opposing teams will try to get Smith into foul trouble as quickly as possible. lol. It was a great comeback and amazing to watch but lets be honest here... MN never ever should have been up 17 like they were to begin with. Let any tourney level team get a lead like that and good luck coming back. At the end of the day a win is a win. Every game is played in isolation. I would really like to see MD win the big 10 tourney but man there's a lot of talent in the conf this year. If they lose it will likely be at the hands of a very good team.

Holy crap... Morsell! I thought the MSU game would be the best comeback of the year... omg these guys

For some reason he really reminds me of BethesdaBoy. My analysis may be spot on too. He did it once recently spinning a giant web of lies. Either way, same skill set.
-
Best squad since their championship year imo. Top 10 has some big, strong, talented teams. Hopefully chaos in the tourney give the terps a mangeable path throughout. Great year no matter how you look at it.

One of my questions was answered... How will the terps play against a good team with a size advantage... I thought they played well enough for a conf road game but OSU really pushed them around at times. Too many rushed long shots too. Especially in the first half. Those are pretty much turnovers over 80% of the time
-
As expected... terps got their hands full @ OSU
-
Absolutely! Make sure our lawn mowers are workable cuz we be mowin soon

Insteresting Cardinal tidbit... they spend over 90% of their life below 20' high or something like that. Another interesting tidbit if they try to fight their reflection. They can be so persistent about it that they can kill themselves from it (not common but happens).

Zero disadvantages that I know of. Some say knot strength or abrasion is worse than mono. I haven't experienced that. Flouro turns invisible underwater and has much less stretch and memory than mono IME. Even with my braided reels I use a flouro leader on the terminal end. Give it a shot some day. Worst case you re-spool but I have a hunch you will really like it. Fishing with some new peeps sounds pretty fun. It can be hard for me to break away for an entire day but an early meetup and morning fishing session is very possible... Lol- just never break character man. Haha. If you do I'll legit get worried about you

That's the one! You'll love the smooth casting and retrieve. Reeling feels like butter. I have 2 each of the 30s, 35s, and 40s. I use braided on the 40s for big catfish. I like the 30s in rivers and 35s in lakes. My fave flouro line in Berkley Vanish. I have giant spools of 8, 10, and 12 lb. Line makes a big difference when fishing clear rivers like the Shenandoah. Flouro can be expensive but I'll get 2 years out of each re-spool with little issue. Damn if you're not making me want to fish again...

Are you referring to the Pflueger reel? If so I have 6 of them. It's without question the best value for perfectly smooth and reliable spinning reel. I think I got them all for under $50 each. Not once single problem with any of them. First one is 6 years old and has been abused. Just hose it off with fresh water after each use and put a little reel lube in every spring and it never fails.

I'm totally good honestly. I gave up about 2 weeks ago. I've been working on my RV lately and putting new line on all my fishing reels. Took care of all the maintenance on my vehicles last weekend. If it snows then it would be great. I'll track and enjoy but only when it's locking in in the med or short range. Otherwise concentrating on spring chores and getting ready for the warm season is making me pretty happy.

Just looked through all guidance for the first time in nearly a week. Walked away feeling like this. I'll check back in a week.

Here's my analysis
-
Not mad at NC St kicking Duke's ass tonight. Terps gotta beat OSU on the road this weekend and they'll inch closer to or maybe be top 5 next week. Heh
-
And they definitely will unless the team is coasting a huge lead in the second half. Which rarely happens in the tourney... Turgeon has done an amazing job this year. Conf road wins have been brilliant. Especially the MSU game. I'm still not sure what I saw in the final mins. Winning it all is part luck and not just a little either. March madness is the greatest sports playoff structure in the world. There is nothing like it imho
-
I tend to agree with one issue... they aren't deep at guard and shooting forward. Take Cowan and Smith out of the game and they can lose first round. Especially Smith because he's the complete package. Last I looked I felt KU and Duke had the most talent and depth. Odds are the terps have to beat at least one of those to get to the final and that's off the top of my head. Majority of the top 10 teams are as good or better. I'd absolutely love and absolutely dread a UMD Duke matchup. Haha
-
I just couldn't squeeze it in today... I tried but was working on wife's car doing all scheduled maintenance except for 1 extra thing... rear brake job. Which is actually easy except when the rotor screws are crusted and rusted and you have to fight, kick, and scream before finally giving in and drilling them out. Lol. No other car or truck I've owned has screws like that. It's been a great car (Honda). No compaints except stealing my bike ride. Haha. Oh, I did not replace the screws because they aren't necessary. All rotors on practically every car are held by pressure from the wheel and a little rust.
-
I'm in a pretty big bracket pool every year and the most common winners are those that don't follow basketball. lol. I did hit first place my first year in the pool and took a lot of flak from the "old schoolers". I've since made up for it by sucking 5 straight years since.

The fun thing about duke and nc is they were always scared to play md. Always a threat even unranked. Gary Williams was an absolute master of preparation for those big games. I saw Gary on a golf course years ago shortly after be retired. Didn't talk to him but watched him scream profanity and slam a club when he shanked a shot. Old habits die hard I suppose. LOL
