  1. Was a good January down south by me, too. The most single digit lows in one month I can recall in the past several years. We underperformed in the ACY southern storm and only got an inch or two, but we made up for it big time. 22-24 inches of snow off the top of my head in January. Good spot for nor’easters that don’t mix at the shore, though I’m about 15 miles inland of the immediate coast. Anything this month I’ll take as gravy.
  2. In my view, things will only trend warmer with time; we should appreciate classic winter weather for our area when we can get it (not just referring to snow). People who prefer warmth will have plenty to enjoy as time moves on. (Referring to AGW - winter here may be very different in several decades)
  3. Give me one, fun trackable event this month that isn’t a sleet/ice/rain storm and I’ll quit while I’m ahead. It is also my birthday month, might travel to upstate NY for some winter hiking with my wife, especially if it doesn’t appear likely I’ll be getting a snowy bday present any time soon.
  4. GEFS looked real cold in that time period. Sustained, too. Won’t be too cold and dry again like we battled mid Jan? Edit: My first (I believe) Snowman weenie! Thanks <3
  5. Bit colder this morning in inland TR / Manchester than expected. Woke up to 22*. No doubt the snow pack has been doing work, but that’s about to melt rapidly .
  6. Not until the NAM shows 24+ inches for the entire subforum while the GFS brings the snow to upper Maine.
  7. Just happy this month is potentially shifting towards less of a torch. 50 degree days in February depress me. Let’s keep some cold in place and kick up those snow chances.
  8. 9 here, inland Toms River. With a solid breeze and blowing pixie dust this is easily the coldest night of the year for us despite me having seen slightly lower temps on a couple other nights. Very cold January, and easily the coldest nor'easter I have any memory of. Bring on more in Feb, let's turn this into an epic winter.
  9. My parents live in Seaside Park; my dad measured a 38 inch snow drift on their porch lol. They definitely got very near that amount being right above IBSP. I'm in TR also and have about the same. Tough to measure this.
  10. My first storm with you guys, really made it so much better. Was a blast to track and follow, then share with you all. Found my place with fellow snow addi.... weenies.
  11. Boxing Day will always be my personal favorite. Was living in North Brunswick with my future wife in a ground floor apartment, opened our front door to 4 ft + snow drifts. Literally snowed in. We had something like 23 inches. This storm rocked though, especially considering the uncertainty. Hope you guys enjoyed!
  12. Great storm in Toms River! 18* currently, exceptionally cold storm especially for the coast. Can't even get into my back yard for better pics. Door won't open lol. Doesn't do it justice, the drifts in back are insane.
  13. I'd say the GFS underestimated considerably. Still more falling.
  14. GFS even grossly underestimated us down at the NJ coast. I have over a foot at this point with more coming down.
  15. Couple more shots before I try to catch some sleep, looking really good here in inland Toms River. The flakes are finally fattening up and away from the pixie dust. Really piling up now with steady moderate snow @ 31*. My snow projector signaling to the heavens where to park the white gold. Seems to be working. Beautiful.
  16. Surprised how slow this place is right now. The NE thread is like a ....*cough*.. bomb cyclone.
  17. 80 inches to NYC. Color depicted in ultraviolet since it breaks the map.
  18. No wonder the models are running wonky, they have snow on them!
  19. NJ central / southern coast has been in and out of a secondary bullseye as well.
  20. The snark is hilarious. Love it.
  21. Was feeling pretty locked into 12-18 down in Ocean County, wondering if that'll end up verifying. The NAM's fever dream made that appear very likely with a chance of over-performance. Regardless, hopefully ends up a good event and hoping for ticks back west to get more of you in on the fun.
