  1. I was waiting for someone to mention this haha. Fantasy land often serves up fantasies, but either way it certainly seems like some robust tracking will be in our future. Let's see what the Euro delivers.
  2. The NAM has been consistent in not wanting to give anything accumulating to the southern tier counties.
  3. Down this way we'll be riding that zero-degree line from the surface up through 700mb for much of the duration. I still don't think anything approaching plowable for Lancaster County and would be thrilled to see an inch, which is a shame because the system shouldn't lack for moisture. The WPC graphics pretty much tell the story......
  4. I am declaring an end to all tracking. The 12z Ukie has spoken. This will unquestionably be the final solution. You can put it on the board. All joking aside, this actually seems like a reasonable depiction ha.
  5. The 12z Fighting Manitoba's show a sleet bomb followed by a period of rain for most of the LSV, FWIW.
  6. My main takeaway from the 12z GFS is that the thermal gradient throughout the entire column is just insanely close for most of the LSV in regards to varying precip types. Razor's edge. Plowable snow still quite unlikely for most of the area SE of I-81, IMO, but boy is this going to be close for much of CTP-land.
  7. Where are you seeing anything resembling 50 degrees on that sounding? I see what looks like maybe some mid to upper 30s around 800mb. Apologies if these tired eyes are misreading. Interesting days ahead. The smart play would seem to be for very little of anything accumulating down this way, with the mid to upper tier counties in line for some plowable snow. Much will be sorted out in the coming 36 hours, unless it isn't ha. .12" of rain for me yesterday, in what has been a string of underperformers around here lately, as mentioned by @Itstrainingtime Good luck to all in the money. It's good to see tracking season back in full swing. Cheers.
  8. It's toeing the line between fantasy and reality. As an old Met professor was fond of saying, forecasts more than 5-7 days out aren't worth the paper they're written on. Now, this was 20 years ago so things have improved, but yeah, you get it. Either way, excited to have some real potential on the maps. Canadian and Euro have some variations of this as well. There was a day last week where no one in the country hit 80. Winter is upon us, you can feel it in your loins, or perhaps that's just me ha. Carry on.
  9. I still haven't moved my gauge over to the new house so that's why I've been silent on the recent rain. It's not exactly high on the priority list right now, well, high for me, not so much for the wife haha. I'll stop by tomorrow and check it out. I see your beloved Mammoth Mountain has added an additional 4 feet since the start of December. Seems like they're off to a solid start for the season, would love to see one of those 500-600" type years out there.
  10. I miss Horst, had some back'n'forth with him a couple times over Twitter. I wish he would post more often but I get it, with his whole rock-climbing gig and all. As for the whole kerfuffle going on here, I haven't had a lot of time to look into things since my whole life is just screaming children (excuse me, I mean adorable loving children); however, I would add that I have absolutely no problem with sports banter or any other type of banter for that matter. It's not like this forum is overly busy with traffic. Now, with that said, I could do without so many of the short choppy back'n'forth posts, as it just leads to my lazy a$$ having to scroll more pages to get through stuff. That could also just stem from my disdain of people who send like seven scatter-brained texts in a row, causing my phone to buzz and light up multiple times, rather than just typing one coherent thought and clicking send once, but I digress. And oh yeah, @Itstrainingtime keep on posting that MU stuff, no harm no foul. All in all, it's a good board with a good mix of weather and off-topic and I don't see the need for any substantive changes. Now, about all that basketball talk......how about some real sports chatter like volleyball and wrestling!?
  11. .32” of rain here yesterday morning. Busy moving large furniture all day today. Fun.
  12. MU always finishes with a significantly higher departure than MDT because they compare against the entire period of record (which I like), whereas NWS just uses the most recent 30-year period.
  13. .24" of rain for me yesterday -- 2.5" total for the month on only 8 days of measurable precip. Certainly feeling like winter out there as we roll into December.
  14. Can confirm bountiful sunshine upon my face as I trekked to the train station.
  15. Skies clearing just to the west up here in Harrisburg. That peak of sunshine may just yet happen.
  16. Yes sir! And more importantly, what should be an outstanding O-line, especially with Fashanu coming back and hopefully Scruggs doing so as well. Yeah the Michigan game was a complete debacle coming off a bye but the OSU game was a pretty even affair outside of a couple splash plays towards the end. I guess if you just look at Penn State's results versus those two it's a not a complete shock how "The Game" played out. I will not even entertain LSU beating Georgia; nope, won't do it!
  17. I did see that the Sierras were in for a nice hit and thought of you. Yeah, pile it up nice and high for that late spring arrival of yours. We decided not to go up for the game, sadly. The 4pm kickoff meant we wouldn't be home until close to midnight and it's just too much to ask of anyone to watch the kids at night right now. Let's just say sleep has been hard to come by in the MJS household lately. Better days ahead, hopefully. Must say, the Nits exceeded my expectations this year. Hearing the Rose Bowl is a real possibility. Very excited for next year's team.
  18. Looks like we'll end November ~2.5 degrees AN, not too shabby considering we were running 13.5 above on November 7th. National high of 92 at Falcon Lake, TX and low of -19 near White Sulphur Springs, MT. I'm with @Itstrainingtime in thinking we see some late day sun, hopefully it at least pops before sunset. Carry on.
  19. .06” total precip here. Happy belated Thanksgiving to all you weather fools. Cheers!
  20. I know the look and feel of those seats all too well haha. Been catching the early train for more than a decade, never gets easy!
