  1. A decent batch of precip has been rolling through here and it’s primarily just plain rain. The ever so slightest ice accretions on certain surfaces but not much to speak of. Temp up to 33. Was expecting low level cold to hang on a bit more, should be in the clear down this way.
  2. Temp already at 32 here this morning, was not expecting that. I assume we’ll drop back down a bit if some precip moves through but all in all not seeing many big issues down this way.
  3. I topped out at 28 today. Shaded areas still have a nice full pack.
  4. Haha yes my thoughts exactly! Perhaps I’ll send them a strongly worded tweet
  5. I’m not sure that’s a damn good question and was really what caught my attention. Seems like they should be on, no??
  6. Oh nice thank you for that. I was just going off the roundup of the ASOS/AWOS sites that is released twice a day (see below). I wonder why AFJ isn’t included in that? Is AFJ a notorious cold spot? Relative low elevation spot?
  7. I see the notorious radiational cooling spots of THV and SEG both dropped to 4 last night, much colder than any other official stations in the state.
  8. Well played lad. Hendricks is the only gin I can drink, on the rare occasion I actually drink gin ha. I’ve got the Manhattans flowing over here tonight.
  9. Already down to 19 here. With mostly clear skies and a fresh snowpack all we need are these winds to die down and who knows how low we can go.
  10. Finally got around to getting my qpf measurement. 4.3” snow melted down to .33” liquid for a 13:1 ratio, about what we all expected.
  11. Haha c'mon man. I don't know about all that stuff, but I do know I was at a work conference a few years back and he was giving a presentation on historical storms. Maybe 50-100 people and afterwards everyone was raving about him. Extremely knowledgeable and had an infectious goofiness about him, really had the room wrapped around his finger. People are complicated and I hesitate to pigeon-hole them. Again, I don't know much about his other dealings but I do know that on that day plenty of people took him seriously.
  12. I disagree. Yes he's clown-ish, but the guy understands large scale patterns as well as anyone out there and his knowledge of historical storms is unmatched. Now, does he come from a place of bias and operate with an agenda at times? Of course, but so do most out there. The difference is JB is open about his. Perhaps too open haha. But I'll take someone like that any day over someone who attempts to appear impartial while harboring deep bias. Just my opinion, and to be clear I have no great affinity for the guy.
  13. Couldn't agree more. I make this same point to people all the time. "What!? We only got .2" of rain when they were forecasting .4"!?", said no one ever.
  14. I feel like this was another storm that, for the most part, was modeled pretty well.
  15. Hey I don't want to hear it pal! Your elevation benefits you more times than not, but in these situations it certainly pays to be east of the range and down in the valleys. Cheers mate
  16. I'm still sitting at 25 here. As for Sunday, I believe the Euro is the only model that has consistently been less than impressed on the icing potential for the LSV. We'll see what she brings this afternoon.
  17. I think you're right except I think you're missing the one where the new Donegal schools are located (Koser Rd and 772). As for the 441 and 23 intersection, that's a tough one, as it's right on the line of three municipalities. I actually think it may be Marietta Borough. I'm sure everyone in the forum is thrilled with our discussion here
  18. Oh wow that seems especially bad, can't say I've ever seen it quite like that. I do know that light at 772 and 230 can get hairy, as well as the "Y" where Marietta Pike feeds into 230 down by Twisted Bine. To be fair though, I don't get into town much anymore and rarely around rush hour. As you know I live in West Hempfield Township surrounded by farmland, and I think we may actually have less stoplights in the township than Mount Joy Borough. I wonder how many East Donegal Township has? Inquiring minds want to know!
  19. By my count, the Borough of Mount Joy has nine stoplights. We are big time.
  20. He really is haha. I can't go anywhere without seeing his reports!
  21. Well, if our contest for MDT would have ended at midnight I would have almost nailed it, as they reported 3.1" snow and .22 liquid, but alas it kept snowing haha.
  22. They reported a snow depth of 6.0" and 24-hour precip of .41" at 6:56am, for whatever that's worth.
