  1. It really is brutal out. It just has that look of cold. Looks angry outside. But also beautiful. Like a woman, emotions all over the place. Apologies to any ladies on the board
  2. Ha thanks, although my wife would argue that I’m sure. I was waiting at the bar for the food and it was packed and raucous. All I could think was some of these people are in for a rude awakening when they stumble out of here after sunset.
  3. I can confirm that, between the drifting and refreeze, it is indeed getting treacherous out there. Had to run and get my pregnant wife a very specific dinner haha, and yeah it’s getting iffy real quick. This in an area that wasn’t even hit particularly hard. Stay safe everyone.
  4. Between not being around this morning to do periodic measurements and the wind wreaking havoc on things this afternoon, I’ve never had a harder time getting a final tally. With that said, after many samples around the property I’m going with an even 3.0”. I have no idea if this is accurate ha, but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
  5. Oh lord, there's always one somewhere. These winds are downright violent. Have buddies reporting power out at multiple businesses around Lancaster, including Target.
  6. Temp plummeting now, down to 24, and extreme winds making it damn near impossible to get any type of measurement.
  7. You know it! Then there was me driving my wife's RAV4 like a little girly man. But hey, it has new tires!
  8. Haha no worries I was just poking fun. Yeah until this final band moving through we just never had "those" types of conditions here. Again, all roads were perfectly fine both this morning and this afternoon all the way from Lancaster to Hershey and back. Was expecting much more impact this morning, kind of like I'm seeing now.
  9. Well right after I typed that I can't see 100 yards here complete whiteout conditions. Groovy.
  10. Well I got back from Hershey a little while ago and I got to say this is a big letdown here. I don't have more than 2" anywhere and our area was consistently and repeatedly forecasted to be in the heart of things. Now, there is this last final band moving through and snow intensity is increasing so we'll see what that adds, but between the midday arrival and the strong winds it's hard to accumulate and get a good feel for amounts. I think someone expressed surprise earlier that the state wrestling championships weren't canceled or postponed, and well, they must not know wrestling fans very well haha. The only thing coming in faster than the snow at 8am this morning was the number of pickups flying into the Giant Center parking lot. The roads were perfectly fine for both the drive there and the drive home and I damn near needed sunglasses coming home. Here's to hoping this last band lays down something meaningful. Congrats to those making out big.
  11. I made if safely to the Giant Center in Hershey. Main roads were all fine but snow really picking up now and conditions deteriorating rapidly. Good luck to all!
  12. Lost about a tenth to rain and sleet but transitioning to snow as we speak. Let the fun begin. Debating my drive to Hershey ugh.
  13. You know, it’s amazing, I hit 58 today under beautiful skies and we ate dinner outside at a food truck with the kid running around the park and a beautiful sunset to the west, and to think we’ll be in the thick of blinding snow in 12 hours. Weather is just awesome.
  14. Yeah I’d be shocked if MDT pops that low but a fresh snowpack certainly won’t hurt. Man I’m not gonna lie, I’m getting pretty jacked up for this event. Looks like we’re in the jackpot for the first time in a long while.
  15. Not much but not nothing either. I expect a brief period of rain and sleet when it first rolls in. Thinking at most a tenth of qpf lost and probably more like only a few hundredths. Either way a good show awaits us.
  16. Yep, as cold as this storm will be, we're still likely to lose a little bit of frozen on the front end down this way.
  17. 18z HRRR holds serve and shows a widespread 6+ across the LSV with bullseye of a foot around the Poconos.
  18. My biggest fear is how fast this thing will be swinging through but honestly I think we're locked into a 3-6" type of event for most on here, which is great in my book.
  19. The FV3 (which I believe the NWS puts a good bit of stock in?) loves our area too. Squall game will be strong Saturday afternoon across the NW as well.
  20. Yep 6-8" for all of York and Lancaster. 8am to noon tomorrow could be downright treacherous.
  21. Oh yeah no doubt. This is really turning into quite the potent interaction between the two pieces of energy. Throwing heavy snow back into northern Alabama and all through central Tennessee overnight tonight.
  22. While I don't think the record low of 8 from 1896 is in play for Sunday, I do think we could take down the daily snowfall record for Harrisburg tomorrow, 4.1" in 1959.
  23. Low of 27 here overnight. National high and low of 91 and -36 at Miles City, FL and Grand Lake, CO, respectively, for an impressive national diurnal range of 127 degrees. Welp, things seem to have escalated overnight with respect to tomorrow's events. Who woulda thunk that on March 12 we finally get one to trend our way. Think I'm gonna have to up my amounts to 3-6" for down this way, with a slight potential to boom even beyond that. All I know is this is really throwing a wrench into my plans to drive to Hershey tomorrow morning for the state wrestling championships. Timing couldn't be worse ugh.
  24. I agree. I'm a traditionalist. Call me crazy but I think you should have to field a position to get a crack at the plate, like we all did in little league ha.
  25. Lot of dirty talk in there. Really think you guys up north are gonna make out reeeeeal nice with this one.
