  1. Guy says he’s struggling with depression and you’re telling him to stop whining? Some people are just too much. And I’d take below normal temps for 12 months out of the year if it could happen. This is an incredibly bad take.
  2. Something like that. It’s really hard not to speculate but I’ll wait until details come out. It’s just sad news, 24 is way too young to die regardless of what he did on or off the field during his short life. I feel bad that we joked about him on here so much last summer.
  3. Yeah, doesn’t look too impressive as far as warmth, and daily rain chances will put a damper on even the warm days. I think we could get to 70 on Wednesday and/or Thursday depending on frontal timing but our first 80 seems like a massive long shot. This past week underperformed due to clouds and rain. I expected several days well into the 60s and we never got any higher than 58. It seems this pattern is hard to shake.
  4. Just a couple years too young for that one to have much of a memorable impact on me. But I seem to remember discussing it last summer here as well. LOL
  5. Will the weekend cold be a little less disappointing now that you’ve seen what the “warm” days have been like?
  6. Looks fairly nice during the week. Easter weekend looks at this juncture if you want warmth and sunshine.
  7. Would think week 2 looks a lot more consistently springlike. Wouldn’t be surprised if we hit 80 before Easter, though it’s entirely possible the warmest days come midweek that week too.
  8. If they issued a snow squall warning it would have probably mixed or dry slotted.
  9. Have you seen a squall you’d have warned? Edit: the current one is kinda fun.
  10. Pittsburgh checking in. A few flakes and a glaze of ice with the initial precip yesterday morning, then a high of 76 yesterday afternoon.
  11. Wonder what was the warmest temperature ever observed here on a day with at least a trace of snow. 76 has to be pretty darn close.
  12. HRRR nailed it. 72 at PIT, 75 at AGC at this hour. Edit: 75 at PIT and 76 at AGC. Over 60 degree swing in 36 hours.
  13. Probably time to shift to this thread. Will be interesting to see how fast temps rise today once they take off. HRRR suggests even mid-70s are possible but that seems like quite a reach.
  14. About another 30% of the posts were made in the first 2 months, it appears. Glad we got this thing revived.
  15. Hopefully we can eke out that last 0.2” in the coming days/weeks.
  16. Looks like the high at PIT will be 27. Daily record, and last time that occurred this late or later in the season was 1923 and only the 4th time ever.
  17. To be fair, they also had yet another massive pileup on one of their highways today.
  18. I watched that one. He did get a little more hysterical as that video went on and he started to realize the gravity of the situation.
  19. Starting with the fact that someone is standing there filming in the first place.
  20. SPS for the band moving through the metro now. Radar seems to have filled in a bit.
  21. If you accept the fact that it’s impossible to keep snow on the ground for more than a few days at a time in March, it’s easier to appreciate, especially when we got a period of extended snow cover this winter. I really think this winter checked all the boxes even with so many crappy periods. I won’t spend one minute thinking about what this winter could have been if December or February had been better or if we didn’t mix and dry slot in January.
  22. Seems our record low max of 30 should be in play today, but who knows? A few peeks of sunshine and we overperform this time of year. More importantly, if we don’t get to 32, there are only two times in the record book that we had back to back days this late or later in the season fail to even reach the freezing mark: March 30-31, 1964 and April 17-18, 1875.
  23. Looks like 2.5” at PIT today (a daily record), 43” for the season and we are officially above normal for the season to date through 3/27. Also 16.2” of snow (snowiest since 1993) in a March that is currently running about a +4 temp departure. Who would have ever thought?
  24. This band means business. Good to see an encore performance from winter.
