  1. I know, it’s a serious leap of faith. I miss that short period of time when we had the old and new GFS running simultaneously.
  2. Until you’re told otherwise, just assume the Euro broke the tie in favor of the GFS.
  3. GFS is still remarkably consistent with its prior runs in the D9/10 range. But yes, the CMC continues to diverge.
  4. I remember that game. Just looked at the stats and they are as ugly as I figured they’d be. The number of times PSU was in Iowa territory, even starting drives in Iowa territory a few times, is stunning for an offense that put up 0 points.
  5. So we’ve now had two discussions this morning about vastly unrelated subjects, but both revolve around the “atmosphere not being what it was.”
  6. Don’t worry, I was talking to some friends at the Riverhounds game awhile back and I said something about the Steelers going 6-10 and was met with the same response.
  7. I’d also be surprised if we manage to tie or beat Cleveland in either matchup this season, let alone hold them to single digit points. God, I hope I’m wrong about this. It’s right up there with my gut feeling that PIT hits 97 this summer for only the second summer since 1995.
  8. I would be absolutely shocked if this team finishes either 8-8 or 6-10, considering there are now 17 games. That said, I really don’t see 4-13 as far fetched (but could also reasonably see 9-8 or 8-9).
  9. Oh lord, it’s hard to give him the benefit of the doubt here but he is the victim unless proven otherwise. This franchise doesn’t have the time for distractions, though that ship seemingly hasn’t been as tight the past few years. I just have this bad feeling it’s going to be a long season.
  10. A quick google search shows that the “hazy” is still used by various local (not here) news outlets (DC, Burlington, the Bronx, Charlottesville, Corpus Christi). I wonder if those places still get the “hazy” with their hot and humid, or if the term is just used for legacy purposes.
  11. Not to worry, it isn’t quite as purple 24 hours later:
  12. It sure does. So now it’s back to the normal mode of rooting for the GFS and firing the EC like Jason Garrett after an 8-8 season.
  13. Furthermore, the CMC and EC now disagree on that beauty of a weekend.
  14. (But we know MDT won’t be 54.) The rest of the area would be 54 and MDT would be 62. But yeah, that xmACIS site is incredible at how easily you can pull that info.
  15. And part of me says, well 54 (the verbatim temperature at MDT on that panel) isn’t that cold, but it’s actually colder than it is at PIT that morning, and although 54 in July has been reached 91 times in MDT’s history, it hasn’t happened in 20 years.
  16. I talked at length about how my wife doesn’t let me run the a/c in May, so you can imagine it’s not exactly set at 68 during the summer.
  17. Well that puts a dent in MDT’s shot at being the 3rd wettest month in history.
  18. One of the last times I opened my windows was back in June on a night when it got down to 45 and I woke up with a cold so bad I got covid tested just in case (yes, I know, the two were unrelated).
  19. Yeah, shameless clickbait on my part. I just love it when I think I’m going to get blasted by a ridge and then it retrogrades and a trough drops down.
  20. Yes, that is true. And just kidding, it ends fantastically!
  21. I’d love to see 80 panels with very little snow in the winter instead of 40. Also this 18z GFS run doesn’t look like it ends well.
