    Even so, 90 at a location where the normal is 84 on the date in question is hardly extreme.

    Wouldn’t want to declare the heat dead just yet, given how brutal September has been in a few recent years. But the 10-14 day GFS, if there’s a trend at all, has been to trend a little cooler than what it had been showing. As for pumpkin beer, everything in moderation. Had one or two the other night, I’ll admit.

    We already tried and failed to close out summer a few weeks ago, so my confidence is low. But agreed on the name drop.

    I would say all possibilities are still on the table for how hot or cool the end of August will be, the models are all over the place (as is usually the case in the 8-14 day range).

    Went to Pittsburgh Beerfest the other night with thousands of other unmasked people. Hoping for the best.

    If I don’t get covid during my layover at Hartsfield-Jackson it’ll be a miracle.

    Still hopeful in the fact that some of these runs have the cooler weather in fantasyland after the upcoming warmth. Also still have a trip to Cancun on my schedule the last week of October. I’m flying Delta.

    It looks like a dreary week. Cool days, warm nights, lots of humidity. At least it gives the heat the boot for a few more days.

    I’m not expecting a big precip event here and I know you’re not at this point in your desert microclimate, but you need it more than I do so push it east.

    Ah, I see the remnants of Fred coming right through my backyard there. Funny enough, the QPF bullseye through 60 on the 3k is also in Union County, though it’s misleading. Convection out ahead of the main system.

    Looks like the QPF bullseye on the NAM is in the Centre/Union/Snyder County area.

    High of 78 today ends our streak of 80°+ days at 12, the longest so far this summer. Last year it was 37 days in a row.
