    Still 21 degrees outside, very heavy snow but unfortunately small flakes. Around .5 of an inch on the ground. Roads caved, even treated ones.

    When’s the last time that the roads became white before the grass? Feels like a major snowstorm is just starting.

    Went for a bike ride when the snow started, very cold and temp has dropped from 23 to 21 since snow had started. Snow is also starting to pick up in intensity.

    First flakes 5 minutes south of Reston, 23 degrees out.

    So the Hrrr has me get 4 inches of snow and sleet along with over .3 inches of freezing rain. #lockitin

    Hard to believe in 24 hours it could be raining or sleeting instead of snowing but here we are.

    Some of the more enthusiastic people here have mentioned thundersleet or thundersnow. Any chance that happens @psuhoffman or any other person who knows what they are doing?

    So in other words if any other the timing was different, slower or faster we would of done better? Was there any way this could have gone worse for us?

    He’s blaming the NWS for his failure. That is unacceptable, everyone knew his forecast was stupid and to save face he is blaming them. How is he not a loser?

    Dude, there is a 97 percent chance that it’s over. Accept it, enjoy the couple hours of snow you get.

    If anything this storm is another big win for the GFS this year. Was the first to sniff out the inland track. Really this is a huge win for pretty much every global if it goes down how it looks like it will, they were consistent since Wednesday. Honestly it’s really amazing how well they have done.
