Can’t wait for E7 to nail November and December then E20 bring it home for the rest of winter to get us our very realistic total of 90 inches.

Just had the most intense thunderstorm of the season come through, heavy rain/wind with a pretty good amount of hail.

Best severe weather day of the season with the latest storm, got a decent amount of pea size hail and some pretty intense gusts with it. Think it was a somewhat localized microburst overhead, either way the rain was needed.- 2,785 replies

As someone who lives 3 miles from Dulles airport and has gotten 0.00 inches of rain for the month it’s been a pretty disappointing but very loud couple of days.
-
It looked like this just last night, insane how much its strengthened in a day.
-
If it happens is it really alarmist to point out that it’s strength is at least partially based on the anomalous warm ssts it’s using?
-
I’m aware but same principle for both. Franklin was just a good recent example.
-
For something more on topic I wonder if the recent convective blowup over the core could be an actual indicator of strengthening or just arrested development. Heres a tweet and link to an article on arrested development. IF this isnt arrested development then things could get pretty interesting tonight https://journals.ametsoc.org/view/journals/mwre/127/1/1520-0493_1999_127_0132_atcwae_2.0.co_2.xml

Imagine if it had more time over water, we are going to pay for all of those underwater volcanos building those ssts.

I would honestly take a failure of this winter if it meant the it’s actually not snowing crew stopped posting.

Thought today would be a little more like one of those rare less localized events with the moderate risk but it still probably verified for MD and can’t really complain about not losing power.- 2,785 replies

Just watched the cells over Reston and chantilly pop up as the outflow crossed over. Unfortunately it also canceled the swim lesson I was giving with a crack of thunder.
